IU - Kaulie Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I haven’t read through the thread but a couple thoughts. The bench saved us early until the starters finished them off. Our starting backcourt has to play much better on both ends. The officiating in NY has been a total joke. Finally Banks! Been begging for him to get more minutes since I saw Mgbako in game one. I don’t know what the stats say but he came in and impacted the game right away on both ends. He still has to work on finishing and free throws but he gets it and has the needed athleticism at the 3 spot. Defends, rebounds, makes right plays, etc. A couple of times he could have forced up 3’s but didn’t and made the right play. The ball finds him because he is active and puts himself in the right positions. He needs to play more and should be starting over Mgbako. Class of '66 Old Fart, BGleas, cthomas and 1 other 4 Quote

Think we're at 23% right now after going 1 for 11 tonight. Chicken or egg question to me. We have guys who can hit. But we’re not taking enough shots and the offense is geared to go inside. Not much in the way of drive and kicks. Not much in the way of sets to give a guy a look - swings to weak side. Shooters need to shoot. Ngw7183 and BGleas 1 1 Quote

Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Indiana finished the last 8 minutes on a 23-6 run... BUT... gotta remember Louisville isn't a good team. But gotta win the games against the bad ones. lillurk and southsidehoosier 2 Quote

Even now Woody is probably juuuust a little worried RMK is gonna find a way to let him have it. :) If RMK was truly buried face down as he requested, he probably rolled over when Woody went to the zone! IU_FanClub Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Banks was absolutely awesome today. Reminded me of the very early stages of OG with his defense and nose for the ball. Keep growing and keep winning. Let’s hope the big ten has a good feast week! (Besides Purdue) lillurk, Artie86, southsidehoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 That's the thing I haven't seen since(2016 I guess). You don't get to play like everyone else. You have Indiana across your chest. That's an immediate target on you. Doesn't matter how good or bad the team is. So you have to play with passion. It's something that has been missing for the majority of the last 30 years. Quote

JSHoosier Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 We really need to get Mgbako going. So far Gunn has been just as productive, if not more, and I don't think the biggest Gunn optimists would've predicted that. If he could get going it'd provide a lift. Banks played well. Walker played well. Gunn still getting minutes. The bench got us the lead in the first half. Generally not a big zone fan, but we were able to lock down playing that and after a rough start kept them off the offensive glass. Ngw7183, lillurk, Stuhoo and 2 others 5 Quote
