I'm tired of reading about the Army game.

Despite the quality of our play, we are 2-0 and Wright State is 0-1 having lost its season opener to Colorado State 105-77.  WSU plays at home tonight against Toledo.  In that opener they were led by 6'0" Trey Calvin who scored 33p hitting 12-21 FG; 4-7 on 3s and 5-5 FT.  As a team they shot 50% from the field; 40% on 3s and 72% from the stripe.  They were outrebounded 31-27 and committed 15 TOs.

Live Stats

FWIW, the 40% from three was only on 15 threes.  Will be worth seeing tonight if they shot a low volume of threes as well.

Potential impact for our next opponent UConn.

UConn freshman Stephon Castle (undisclosed) is OUT for tonight's game against Mississippi Valley State, per release.  Castle is a 5-star freshman averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.  He was a high school teammate of Jakai Newton.

Hoosiers need to realize that visiting teams want to take it to them in the Cathedral of college basketball. An IU win is a notch in their belt even though our past glory days have passed. They come to play hard with extra adrenaline. From the players, Coach, managers to the team bus driver….. they all have extra juice to knock off the once Mighty HOOSIERS!

Here’s hoping we have that same INTENSITY!

GO HOOSIERS!!

I am just hoping Hummel is not calling this game. I know people love him as a commentator and he is pretty good outside of when he calls IU games. I think he goes way overboard during our games and tries to criticize as much as possible. We haven't played well but he just continues to harp on every little mistake and it's really annoying. I've seen plenty of teams play really poorly so far this season and the commentators don't go at them nearly as hard as Hummel does us. The past two broadcasts have almost felt like the announcing crew was rooting for the upset to happen but then you go and watch a game on ACC or SEC Network and a team is struggling and you don't hear nearly the same amount of excitement in the commentator's voices at the prospect of one of their conference teams losing a buy game.

Hey, I'd take Dakich calling games 100 times out of 10 over Hummel. For all his faults, he was an incredible color commentator.
When it was anyone but IU, yes. When it was an IU game, it became a 2 hour extension of his radio show.

P.S. It's Kugler and Bardumb tomorrow. Be careful what you ask for...

This is the box score from Wright St’s season opener against Colorado St, and this is one to behold. CSU dropped 60 on them in the 2nd half, shot 63% for the game and had 37 assists on 42 baskets. So, either CSU is the Golden State Warriors or Wright State can’t defend a lick.
