I would’ve lost a lot of money on a “Will Mike Woodson ever work again” bet. I guess he feels well rested after his part-time job the past four years.

Right there with you on this one. Interesting profession, where you can flat out suck for 4 years, underperform with an expensive, talented roster that you brought in, get fired, and then jump back immediately into the professional ranks as an assistant.

I know it’s hard for some of us to believe but people in basketball really do like Mike Woodson a lot haha

I think that's different because of the specialized nature of asst coaches in football.

Pretty obvious Tom Allen is a legit DC, below avg HC... I'm certain he works well with others.

Then there's Woodson. And specifically him.  I just feel like he'd be "know it all" ish, tremendous experience though.

Well color me shocked, I thought he was going to retire as that's why he's no longer the head coach of Indiana.

Oh wait, it wasn't his decision. He needs to hang it up, he has plenty of money. Go golf and drink wine Woody.

Hmm… a bit surprising.

This would be great.  If I remember correctly, per his contact compensation he gets from the Kings would offset his buyout, though the exact details of his separation agreement I do not know (who knows what got negotiated in those tense days this year).

I believe he was paid out in full in part of all that mess last year, but I could be mistaken.  Others would know more than me, but that is what I was lead to believe.

I played sports in college and professionally. It was a few years before these incidents but it was normal to have this procedure done at physicals.

I was thinking back and I thought that I had my family physician do this in my sports physicals as well, but I don't completely recall that and thought maybe i misremembering.  But it seems it was common around the time.

Thanks, good intel.

It was reported his 2023 contract amendment still had language regarding his buyout being mitigated by future employment.  However, it sounds like IU struck a deal for a lower lump sum(s) paid earlier with no future comp mitigation vs. paying over a longer period of time with mitigation.

That was the way I understood it, but I have no way to know that 100 percent.  Others here might.
