(2023) - PF Arrinten Page to USC

Out of the 3 visits last week I would say I feel best about Page first with DHS being a close 2nd, then Kaiser. In order of committing to IU. Hopefully, hear something in the next two weeks or so.

Great stuff. Two things:

1. Looks like dad played two seasons as a forward at Grambling from 1983-1985. Would think he would be familiar with Woody's pedigree.
2. While it is an obscure takeaway, any basketball dad that comes up with a quote using the word "gosh?" "...he got a chance to meet the players and gosh, it’s a good group" is gonna be a good-natured guy. Amirite?

Page is by far the biggest need.

From photos of both standing next to Woody, Harris-Smith is about an inch taller than Kaiser and is the most impressive player to me.

All three are very much coveted by our staff, which says a lot and until proven otherwise, is good enough for me.

Just read dad's comments and, wow, that was about as positive as possible. I feel really good about landing this young man. We continue to hear great comments about CMW from not only the players, but the parents as well. That bodes well in my opinion for sustainable success. Maybe we finally got the coaching hire right.

if we can nab these three kids, adding them to both Gabe and Newton from a rankings perspective if you are in to that sorta thing we'd have to have around a top 15 class I would imagine.  I'd say most of those 5 kids would be closer to 3 year guys too unless they decide to transfer after a year.

The transfer thing concerns me. Patience isn't typically the strongest trait for the kids we are recruiting. They are all good enough to play quickly somewhere. I see very good players all the way down the bench. What I don't see is the playing time to keep everyone happy and engaged. I know "it will work itself out".

After reading his dad's comments I feel really confident about Page. I hate following recruiting lol I do not have the patience for it

I would be shocked if he is not a Hoosier by the start of classes. I keep hearing we are very confident 1 pops very soon and another shortly after. My best guess is Page and Harris Smith

IU, this was apparently the timeline given to the staff. Nothing i share is firsthand but the guy I talked to has been plugged in and feels strongly.

Page has not updated his Instagram account with his IU visit photos as he has done for every other visit. Wondering if he's saving that for an Indiana commitment announcement soon?

Based on the interview I think we have a very high chance of landing his dad. Hope he still has some hops.

For those worried that Page wasn’t posting from his visit, here ya go. Jakai Newton with an appearance in the comments. Question: I don’t remember seeing a video like this from a recruit’s visit, but I also spend no time on Instagram. Is this common?

It’s a new rule change around a year ago. You used to not be able to send personalized videos to kids, but you can now. Personalized graphics and photos were fair game, but for some reason videos weren’t. First I’ve seen the basketball program use it since the rule changed though.
