There are three people under 50 who have coached men's Final Four teams.

There are quite a few people who have coached Final Four teams (when they were) under the age of 50.

Translation:  It is difficult to coach a team to a Final Four and often takes years to accomplish (and at higher profile schools than Butler, VCU, or FAU).

Yeah. I didn't get that you were asking for people currently under 50.

That's why I found it a little confusing.

Then again, I"m easily confused.

Pearl getting ran at home today. Cross him off the list.

I think this is my favorite part of coach search season. Every coach that has a good game shoots to the top of someone’s list and every good coach that stumbles becomes a bum. Does Musselman still have any fans? Because he had more than a few 4 years ago.

gonna be a long 6 weeks!

I’m not sure how much of a non-answer that even is. Buddy went for almost a minute on Indianastalgia. I don’t think we get past 2 on the list.

(and if we do we should contact Todd Goldennnnnnnn (if we can confirm he doesn’t throw unsolicited dong at co-eds on IG))

“Todd Golden, because Anthony Weiner don’t coach hoops.”

When Dusty was asked about the IU job in the postgame conference he did not demonstrably deny interest and therefore he tacitly indicated he would take the job.

I saw that, I’m not surprised

As a person who’s lived and breathed the Roy Williams era at UNC trust me when I say that May can get you a championship.  He grinds, he cares, always learning, and with our NIL we’ll get our fair share of elite recruits. Roy Williams wasn’t a genius but he had the proper resources around him.

Williams had a very good run at Kansas before UNC. They are not the same…yet.

Well obviously right now. He also had the resources at Kansas.  Still couldn’t pull off a natty with them as well. May is smarter. Just my opinion.

May is one of the riskiest moves Dolson could make right now. Hiring a guy away from a conference rival adds a whole different level risk to navigate.

The IU search committee nearly pulled it off in 2001.

There are 2 buyouts:

1) The school fires him. That is 70% of the remaining contract which puts this buyout at about $11M currently. This money goes to the coach.

2) May decides to leave, i.e. he gets another job somewhere else like, say, IU. This is at $5M and will soon drop to $4M. This money goes to the school.

So you're original post that I replied to which stated they kept it at $5M to make it cheap to fire him is incorrect.

Even so, he's not coming here and I'd put money on it
