Remember how we used to laugh at Maryland for hiring Williard?  I think many gave Wisconsin a hard time for Gard and the early years of Underwood looked tough. They are all looking pretty good right now. Hopefully hiring a very good to great experienced college coach with our resources will yield similar or better results

I would not be so quick to write McCollum off the list……All Iowa talk is centered around DeVries …McCollum is backup but Decries has called it his dream job…..and he has not signed extension yet with wvu…..

Easy on the Willard kudos. We'll see if he drops back to his mediocre/less than mediocre Maryland ways after Queen goes pro.

The IU fan was in a prop plane. This one is a proper twin engine private jet. Still could be nothing.

you can only hire 1 guy, that doesn’t mean that they “passed” on everyone else. 

Well with the exception that it wasn't reported that Coach K and the rest were linked to the Kentucky job like  Sampson Wade and Beard were last year.  And the story out there that both of them vetted and moved on from Wade and Beard.

But yeah it's probably it was MORE likely that both schools wanted coaches who hadn't won NCAA games and that determination was unrelated to anything else.  Though in Beard's case the fact that he's only really had two good season probably could have played a part, but that's still more than Pope had.

I don't think he's had any problems with his kids at Houston.  Maybe so, but haven't heard.  I'm always amazed how Izzo gets a pass when he had guys sexually assaulting students, not to mention his assistant coach Travis Walton.  Can anyone imagine IU hiring Izzo?  Lol.
