Has Collins considered or been considered for other jobs? Seems like he’s done enough at NW for other schools to kick the tires. Maybe he just likes the job. I can’t remember any noise around him for other openings.

UoL and UK both passed on him:)

There isn't one lol haven't you picked up on the flow here?

Oh I know there isn't but it at least quiets some of the lies spewed on here.

Sarcasm my friend…..sarcasm!

That wasn't for you it was for others.  A $10mil buyout now and one in 4 years to fire him is a rookie mistake.

The people who don’t want to hire a guy like Bruce Pearl because of his ncaa “infractions” annoy me. That’s just trying compete in college basketball. There’s some overlap within that group with the don’t hire Beard crowd, but I don’t think it’s sanctimonious not to want to hire him. It’s totally reasonable not to want him as the coach. I’m just so sick of IU being such a gutter program that I’d definitely take him.

Yeah.  Winning is everything.

Cheating is ok.

Good sportmanship is so naive.

We don't need no stinkin' rules.

Get rid of flagrant fouls.

It's great to diss the other team after a great play.

Screw them.

Good grief, don’t get me going! lol

I’ve been a proud girl dad of two beautiful daughters for 30 years now. I have two wonderful granddaughters, one grandson and a 3rd granddaughter, due in May.
My wife and I have been so blessed with our daughters and grandchildren. We are so thankful they are live no more than 30 minutes away. Our lives totally revolve around them.

“Papaw” is just putty in those babies hands!

Sorry, got off of IU, but man,…. If you’re able to and your children have grown up, be a part of those grandbabies lives as much as possible! Time goes by soooo fast.

……back to the topic on hand. Go IU!
My choices are….

#1. Stevens

#2. May (unavailable)

You know what they call a guy with 2 daughters and 4 grandkids? A rookie. /s

I get your sentiment, and whole-heartedly agree... we have six grown kids (ages 39-49) with 17 grands (ages 9-23). We are fortunate that all but one daughter and one granddaughter live within 20 minutes of us, and we get to see them, enjoy them and pour into them regularly.

Now, let's get this IU basketball thing settled and rolling again...

Because IU has such high standards for who we bring in to coach up our boys, we hired Archie Miller and Mike Woodson….maybe we should loosen up a little?

If we are gonna "loosen up a little" let's just bring slick Rick Pitino and his dancers to town lol

That one specifically isn't but the whole general crossing people of the list because of mistakes they've made is.  People wanting a squeaky clean successful home run coach are going to waiting a while.  Highly successful people make mistakes and aren't perfect, maybe more so than your average person, maybe more so because they're in the public eye, it's just tiring to hear.

I won’t turn this into a duffel bag conversation given that it doesn’t really matter anymore with NIL, but we see what all the goody two shoes moral preening got IU over the past twenty years or so. Rules that were never enforced might as well not have even been rules. Winners get celebrated by the NCAA, even when we all knew why they won.

Only my personal opinion, but I think IU already has their coach. Take that for what it's worth, but my feeling is that May has been told and that is why he signed an extension. As others have said, things aren't making a lot of sense right now. Scott is still doing his due diligence, but why has all the information suddenly stopped flowing? Maybe I'm delusional or it's just wishful thinking, but I think things aren't making much sense right now for a reason. Scott has been conducting this search for over a year now, IMO.

Genuine question, what information are you referring to?

I think I’ve got it all figured out. Pearl was rumored to be in contention but Dolson was shot down. Dolson is rumored to have his guy, and a lot has come out (rumors) about other candidates so it doesn’t appear to be Pearl. Figured it out, you’re welcome :)
