Just a recommendation that everyone keep an open mind about the potential of whoever is hired, regardless of how you may initially react to it.

I could easily think of some where the pitfchforks should come out. Fortunately I don't think IU is dumb enough to hire any of them.

I say that realizing we're replacing a guy no one thought we would be dumb enough to hire.

I’ve done some digging on RTZ. Zion is a reference to the national park in Southern Utah. If RTZ is meeting with a source who is an AP pollster that means it’s a smaller list of people. He said the pollster is northeast-focused. Of course, the northeast is relative. And what’s northeast of Southern Utah? Indiana. Know who’s an AP pollster? One Jeffrey Rabjohns. Boom.

RTZ is having lunch with Rabby discussing Brad Steven’s coaching staff.

I’m just worried about this scenario and it’ll sting more than anything…..

Brad wants to coach again. Loves IU. Would love to coach IU. IU has the money, the years, the NIL budget, etc etc

BUT

His daughter doesn’t want to relocate and wants to finish high school where she calls home (and I wouldn’t blame her) and at the end of the day, Brad doesn’t come.

I’d be more worried about that guy getting the job.

Big 5 star recruit is playing in Indianapolis…oops, sorry can’t go recruit, the daughter has a dance recital.

Purdue coming to town mid February for the conference standings lead…too bad, need to take the wife Valentines Day shopping instead of scout.

You have to be married to this job to succeed. Anyone that tenuous about accepting the job is setting themselves up for failure no matter how talented they are as a coach. Stevens would be awesome here, but if he doesn’t want to be here no amount of money you could throw at him would make him successful here. He’d fail like everyone else.

Is this an inside joke/ board hazing thing for new guys or ?

I think people are just giving you a hard time for the Turgeon stuff, and also making a joke about Ant Wright, who is a Twitter analyst for Big Ten hoops (and has DMV ties I think?).

what have you been hearing on Mark or others?

Nonsense.  He’s not turning the job down due to this daughter.  When he says no it’s because he’s happy where he’s at.

Exactly. Please don't challenge the administration's ability to screw the pooch... once is plenty...

I have always said that Mark would make an amazing associate head coach for Brad. Kind of like Armon does with Woody but he would at least stay awake

I absolutely will... unless it's one of two names.

I know that people let Dolson completely off the hook for the unconscionable hiring of Woodson, but he IS still IU's AD and is making the hire yet again, so...
