In my mind (and my gut) - it is Brad until he says directly states “I will not be the next head coach of Indiana Basketball” or until we hire somebody else. 

All signs seemed to point to Brad until (what I believe was) a smoke screen quieted things down. Since then, any noise has not been substantial - the way that I think Brad and Scott want things to be until Woodson is officially done.

I do not think we would still be hearing minor rumblings about Brad if the donors thought it was someone else, since that seems to be our main source of info here. I trust our insiders to honestly report what they are able to, and I believe what they were told early on. 

Also, as far as I have seen, nobody has reported that a donor is upset with how the process is going. Even after the news broke that Brad “thoroughly appreciates being a Celtic and loves the people he gets to work with every day.” Maybe I missed something, but I would think that it would upset a donor if what we were told early on is true, and we would hear about it, because again that seems to be the info source here. JMO.

The reality is that nobody knows for sure until something is done and announced. Call me delusional. I’m okay with being wrong, and I will be optimistic about the future of the program regardless of who our next coach is. Go Hoosiers :)

There was this one time, I told everyone at work and anyone that asked me, that I was happy with the organization I worked for and the one thing I love the most was the people I worked with. I said all of this while I was working on getting another job somewhere else...

The only quoted statement we've seen means absolutely nothing...

It's Stevens till it's not for me. But I'll be happy to watch some good basketball next season even if it ends up being someone else.

I literally don't care if our "insiders" end up being wrong. As long as they are genuinely passing on what they've heard from what are hopefully reputable sources. Honestly the idea and hope of possibly getting Brad is and has been more fun than the actual season anyway. Keep it comin' boys!

As someone literally going through this right now, preach. The people that need to know, know, but they haven’t said anything. I’ll get to make the announcement to everyone when it’s appropriate. This part of the Stevens saga is not at all unbelievable to me. So until he has another Masshole moment, there’s a chance. personally, I think it’s slim, but “not a candidate” is not putting out any fires. JMO

The difference is that there aren't people who's job it is to find these things out about you, there are people that make a living finding these things out in the NBA and in Boston, and there hasn't been a peep.

Which makes sense -- these are people not professionally tied to the situation, but have a personal and financial investment in it. So of course Dolson is communicating with them to some degree about what he is up to. And of course that's the only place from which any info seems to be coming. Everything else at this point seems to be pure speculation.

To reiterate, I'm not an insider and I don't know diddly squat. But after years perusing various boards with "insider" sources, I've learned to read the tea leaves a bit. If I were a betting man, I'd be putting money on Brad Stevens right now. That's just where my gut is.

From the donor side, the only thing really being talked about is the NIL.  I know others are discussing coaches to some on the board, but that’s still very different than what I am hearing.  Which is less than normal.  Normally, you would think that’s a bad thing, but it gives me hope people that entrenched themselves in previous men’s bball coach searches just have not this time.  That much I am certain of beyond NIL confidence.

And no, I’m not saying IU should’ve announced anything by now.  I would definitely expect something from the Celtics side.

Where did he ever say that? He just said IU wouldn't announce it before Woodson is out to pasture. And why would the Celtics feel any need to announce it? Do you believe they would want to burn Brad Stevens after he has spent years dedicated to making that franchise great?

The only person I've ever actually seen report that is Woj. Others have shared Woj's report, but i haven't seen (doesn't mean is doesn't exist) any other original reporting that IU made an offer. 

Even Woj's report said IU was "prepared" to offer Stevens. Stevens has denied that offer happening.

That’s not entirely true. The nba does not have a monopoly on headhunters or personnel movements being news internally. Obviously it’s not national, but in a specific industry, it can be very similar. That was my only point. I don’t think Brad Stevens is going to coach IU my man. Merely stating that in my own experience, an owner or CEO being the only people that know and keeping their traps shut isn’t that uncommon. Cheers.
