Decent chance the JFK file gets declassified soon (66% chance per betting markets).  That’s a drop everything and read it moment if it happens.

And finally prove the bullet curved.

I’m kicking around the idea of an annual BTB free-for-all day. Think of it as our very own purge. Lock down the site so no new accounts can join and one special thread is open to just get absolutely buck wild. Conspiracies, crazy insider stories, the whole nine yards. If you have a problem with someone? Hash it out. 24 hours of unmoderated madness and then the thread is deleted forever. I think it would be good for us.

(This is the first the other mods have heard of this. I’m off a strong cup of coffee and riffing this morning)

Great bit. You keep this up and all you mods are gonna get a nice raise on next year’s NIL budget. Leal Deals for everyone.

Bet Texas would have loved to have seen that notebook since they hired him without reservation.

I think they looked the other way since he was an Alum. Or they wrote something in the contract so they could get rid of him right away.

The kill shot for JFK came from the grassy knoll. It’s not even really debatable based on the heads reaction to the shot and physics.

Two words:

spontaneous combustion.

I don’t think it really matters, just throwing out some names to help the flow of the board and get more pages. We both know who it’s going to be. Say it for me.

Why cause he had one lucky run like Crean did? At least Crean won a few B1G championships.

What? Cronin has won 69% of his conference games since joining UCLA. Finished 2nd, 4th, 2nd 1st, and 5th in the PAC 12. He’s made the sweet 16 three of the last four years. He hasn’t had a conference record under .500 since 2010. Even if you remove Crean’s first 3 seasons in their entirety, he won 58% of his conference games at IU. He missed the tournament twice in his last four years and went 20-14 and lost in the first round another year.

I feel like people are talking about a completely different person when they talk about Cronin… Maybe he’s a curmudgeon, but his resume stacks up with any other candidate out there.

Not the point, how could IU have found such damaging material on him and Texas just came up empty?

There were two issues at the time -- first was IU didn't like his background and second was that it obviously clear he coveted the Texas job and was likely going there.  The first one was kind of irrelevant at the time for IU because of the second.  The first one is even more relevant now.

I don’t think people are saying Crean was better, they just believe in the end Cronin’s results will be close to the same. Maybe we make the tournament a few more times over 5 years, maybe we compete for a B1G title one of those years. But in the end he is not a very exciting choice….after what this fanbase has been through a lot of fans want a big name coach that will put IU back in elite status! If they are really willing to pay $100M for Stevens there has to be a more exciting coach they can bring in than Cronin. Like I said, I would rather just see them take a shot at McCollum, who is in his early 40s and might just be a home run? If it’s Cronin I will support him and hope he makes me look foolish and puts up a couple of banners!

Well Dakich just said Iu should hire Alford so we are safe to assume we are in the clear of that not happening

Dakich is a one trick pony and needs to be put out to pasture (ie retire)
