There's no way Dolson pushed this hard to get rid of Woodson just to pry Brownell away from Clemson. Think of the risk he would be taking.

The Brownell talk sounds like agent nonsense to me trying to garner interest in their client in general. Zero chance Brownell is a candidate JMO. Cronin smoke too most likely. Agents and media people do this crap every big opening, throwing around nonsensical options. It is good for business for Brownell to have stories about being connected to the IU job.

I think I’d hate a Collins hire less than I’d hate some of these other hires. He’s done a respectable job at a school with literally zero basketball history. Had never made the NCAA tournament before Collins got there. I think a lot of “imagine what he could do with our resources” responses are copium with some of these candidates, but I think it actually fits with Collins. He’s a good coach. Northwestern plays in a high school gym and has a 7.2% acceptances rate. IU is in a different universe when it comes to recruiting opportunities.

If it isn’t Stevens and we won’t look at Pearl and Beard it could very well end up being a Collins type. I guess he is an upgrade to Woodson but yeah, it would be very meh, mid, average

Have noticed that all too. Maybe he was told to quiet down as well haha. He certainly hasn’t 100% shut down Stevens yet, just so he can go back and say he didn’t. “Unless some unforeseen things happen”

I’ll have to take your word for it. I haven’t followed him closely / long enough to formulate an opinion like that. Seems fine enough to me from the few clips and interviews I’ve watched

IU has felt like it's on the verge of implosion every year, and yet has made the tournament more times than Brad Brownell has in his time at Clemson. There's just no way to sell that hire to fans.
