You have to acknowledge that Dolson has not said a word, nor has he hinted, intimated or suggested that he was doing the Stevens dance... all of the reporting is from the insiders that may or may not be getting factual information, and from the flight trackers, dreamers and insider wannabes...
I'm not saying that Dolson hasn't been in contact with Stevens or his representatives, but it's not like Dolson is standing outside his bedroom window holding a boombox over his head blaring love songs and pining for Stevens to give him the time of day.

Maybe he should go the boom box route....wouldn't hurt...

Several years and tens of millions into his tenure with Boston, Brad was still driving a Mazda. This isn’t a guy who can be bought, and it’s certainly not a guy who will make a decision based on 9.2M vs 10M.

True to every other coach search we have:

- Infighting about our resident insiders.

- An influx of new posters with hostile attitudes

- Lines drawn, PRO & CON, about a dozen or so possibilities

- Radio Silence from the AD

- Disappointment, woe, and smugness

After weeks of this, a new coach will be announced.  There will be jubilation from many, angst from others.  Then acceptance.  Then the portal lottery will be the attention grabber.  We will win the portal and spend months predicting our success.

Then season begins, hopefully with positive results for a change.

He seems like a guy that adapts to his personnel. The dude is a tactician and I can’t imagine he doesn’t understand analytics or modern basketball. Guys on his team that are good shooters don’t pass up open looks and it’s probably drilled into guys that aren’t that great from that range there’s a better shot within the flow of the offense.

The thing is who is considered elite is not going to leave their current job. Last year UK and UL tried to get those elite coaches and were turned down. They got what people would say was a B name candidate and they are doing fine.

I don’t care about his Midwest ties, look at his coaching record.

I’m not saying he should be our top candidate, or even top 3, but we’d be silly to not be happy with him as our coach if he can replicate what he’s done at UCLA.

This is what happens when the coach is so bad he needs “retired” midseason but you don’t want to put an interim in place.

Then there is a large gap of time for a coaching search that must be filled with excitement and anticipation because a top 10 paid roster isn’t good enough to make the 68 team field to keep the fans distracted from said coaching search.

And the AD has to wait until the season is over to actually formally do anything. That’s the mess we are in because Woody and crew held the position captive for an extra year to prove to himself he’s a failure.

Sums it up?

I don't think its some conspiracy of those for Woodson wanted to stick it to anyone.  It was noticing last years roster had its deficiencies at guard, give him the ability to bring in talent so they're not canning an IU legend without giving him talent and a legit chance to succeed.  He got his players and it would either work or it didn't and it obviously didn't.
