That was a nightmare for them

I’ve been told he was closer to taking the Louisville job than Kentucky job. Junior Bridgeman is a wealthy donor and alum there from the Region who is great friends with Drew family, and even he couldn’t persuade the wife.

Why?  If he is your guy then announce him as the next coach and sign the contract.  Date it the day after Woodson's last day as the coach/end of the IU season.  Doesn't make sense to wait in my opinion, but I'm not a lawyer, admin, or anyone that deals with contracts.

Has anything like this ever happened? A new coach being signed while the current coach is still coaching games?

Feels like it happens in college football occasionally when the retiring or outgoing coach still coaches the bowl game and the new coach is already on the job. Can't remember it happening in hoops, though.

BoT. I don’t think so. If Scott wants them and so does Pam the board better approve them.

I’ve wondered this for a while, is anything about having BOT this involved or controlling AD decisions remotely normal? It feels like athletic departments that are dual successful you don’t hear about board people or former board people having anything to do with the AD unless there are really weird circumstances.

I am sure it happens, but it just seems like IU is unwilling to let the athletic director do their job. The board should just be saying “aye” to the things the AD wants to do.

If I am wrong I will be the first to own up to it, and this is not a guarantee, but my official prediction is Brad. I’m not just guessing, we shall see!

I’ll continue to manifest.

It’s not normal to this extent

Dusty 60%
Brad 40%

Chances as of today. IMO.

Do you feel these numbers are significantly different than a few days ago? And if so, moved in which direction?

I can’t speak for RTZ obviously, but from the overall sense of his posts last few days, I would have figured those would have been reversed. Could just have been me taking his posts the wrong way, unless something has changed last few days, etc.

Because he’s the president of the Celtics and not the head coach of IU. Maybe because he built this team and wants to see them win back to back NBA championships.

That makes no sense. NBA playoffs don’t start until the middle of April. If he’s taking the IU job he would be looooonnnnggg gone before seeing the Celtics win back to back championships.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Scott Drew's version of Christianity would not preclude him from leaving a Christian school.  Would seem funny if a coach threatened to have a player deported if they didn't go to their school would draw the line at coaching at a non-Christian school.

He can be a solid Christian and still make occasional stupid decisions.  The apostle Paul who wrote much of the New Testament hunted Christians and was there watching as Stephen was stoned.

*not referring to coach in waiting Stephen Pearl - he’s a Jewish kid. (aaaannnd… presto! back on topic)
