IMO, if IU basketball becomes really good again, we will be hated anyway. We don't need to be a villan. Duke is not hated because they took the villan role. Lots of people hate Dukies because they've been so good for so long.

That is up to the school on how to split up the money but they must take Title IX into account. It's also unclear at this time what percentage needs to go to women's sports. It will be affected by Title IX (per the courts) but it isn't clear how: 50/50, something else based on revenue generated, or some other method? The courts didn't clarify what they meant.

Most of the men's money will probably go to football with the majority of the rest going to basketball. How much of the $20.5M cap (I assume IU will hit that cap) is unknown at this time. The school probably doesn't even know yet since there will likely be clarification between now and when they have to start paying it out. They likely have several plans based on possible outcomes but nothing is public.

We have donated a lot of NIL money, I have random things I get told to me. Some true some not. I was told recently that Goode has filled out for another year of eligibility that he was not doing if Woodson was staying. I personally gave $5,000 extra to get Goode here (I am sure he had plenty of money, but they said they needed $5,000 more). So take what you want. I am not an insider nor claim to be. I just have a good circle of friends who are pretty cozy with some high up donors and some of the NIL members.

This is an underrated point. I’d be happy with a potato on the sideline at this point if it meant no more WoodyBall. 
 

But hey, there isn’t a fanbase in the country as good at coaching search szn as us, and I think that’s really beautiful.

IU has had plenty of practice the last 25 years, apparently practice doesn't always make perfect because here we are again.
