To me, it doesn't sound like Beard is low on the candidate list - it sounds very much like he's not on the list at all and never will be.

I think the thinking is if it gets past Brad and Dusty the administration might really have no choice.  Maybe they feel really good about their top choices right now but what if they fall through?  I think if the hire is a Buzz Williams type it’s probably the end of the program.  Too many people would just check out.

I mean, I guess. Just seems like there's a lot of other really good coaches out there in play that could be options if we missed on Brad. Again, sounds like heavy speculation of what the IU admin could / would do vs. what several knowledable folks on here have said absolutely won't happen.

I want to say for all the people watching from the outside, not on BTB that I have no idea if we will get Brad Stevens or not. I like where we stand but I am not certain about anything. I also can't put a number on what I think the chances are. It's all a process and we are letting the process play out. I don't want anyone getting their hopes up then if something happens and they are crushed, it's my fault. I felt bad last time and don't want it happening again. Let's hope it works out differently this time. Just a FWIW. Whatever I post is what I'm hearing at the time. I don't expect to hear anything for a little while.

I'm curious...Is Beard on the latest Hot Board?  I don't pay for the premium but heard there is a new one coming out today...If it gets past our first couple, Beard is an option.

Truthfully I know very little about Buzz Williams before he came up in these discussions. However, his results at Marquette, VT, and Texas A&M are all much better than anything we’ve gotten over the past decade and, frankly, better than what IU has done since I became a fan. With our NIL/resources he could probably do even better than he did at those spots. 

He’s not at the top of my list but IU can, and quite possibly will, do worse.
