I wish there was a way to get the entire fanbase to boycott and make them play in front of an empty Assembly Hall. IU doesn’t deserve anyone’s time or money. Oh well, a half empty Assembly Hall gets the same point across. A whole lot of people’s winter calendars just cleared up. If he does come back it’s not because Dolson didn’t try. The trustees have not been behind this. I still think Archie won’t coach another game at IU nerdvana, OldBuddy67, HooHooHoo22 and 27 others 29 1

I love football and would love to have a consistently good program. But I still need the basketball program to be great. It’s like Ohio State football. It’s like the position is just there to raise money from donors while the big decisions get made by someone else. In any event, Dolson will be the guy carrying the stink on him because he’s the public face of the department. JaybobHoosier and MikeRoberts 2

I'm assuming it's because of the buyout. Regardless of what people think of Archie, he's a lame duck coach. No recruit with any real options is going to want to come to this mess. We eat, sleep, and breathe IU basketball and we even seek out Internet message boards to write about it. They don't see it that way. It's just an athletic program to them. Firing a coach and spending money is more of a nuisance than something they actively want to do. Chris007, Hoosierfan2017 and JerryYeagley23 2 1

lillurk Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 If IU is going to delay the inevitable for a season and thus kneecap recruiting etc. for an additional year, I’ll just check out and be a casual fan until the next coaching regime. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Get ready to buttonhole this thread until January 2022. Interesting to see a year from now how many of the names that have been bandied about as potential replacements for '21-22 drop out of contention for various reasons. Archie better start working the transfer market pretty damn hard because only 1 2021 commit ain't gonna cut it and if Archie's retained I'll be very worried about how many of our existing roster will depart and have to be replaced. pumpfake, 8bucks, MemphisHoosier and 3 others 6
