Yeah, even if he wanted to coach again…wouldn’t he first go back to Nova anyway?

NIL was a big reason he left the coaching game. It wouldnt be them if he did come back

If the rumor mill is true that Will Wade wants IU and IU is not responding in kind to me this only serves to suggest this is a big time hire . I’m more than willing to accept/realize it’s not Stevens. No idea who the “Mystery guy” might be

i just can’t buy myself to believe the hire is Brownell or McCollum if Will Wade is out there , has reached out with interest and IU said no thanks . This is exhausting

Thank you. Was never, ever likely.
That said, I have supreme confidence in Dolson.
Lloyd, Few, or McDermott wouldn’t surprise me. After that give me Will Wade or McCollum over someone like Cronin.

So wait...no offense to Stu but what makes his info "more right"?

Thats fair!

I am reasonably confident as to the veracity of the source, but it’s second hand and clearly anything is possible.

Jeff Goodman: Brad Stevens tells me he’s not a candidate for the IU job

Brad Stevens: I love being a Celtic and the people I work with every day

IU fans: This literally means he is coming?? Holy **** don’t you get it?!?!

Haha :)

Truly embarrasses me every time. The whole idea that someone who leads the most important organization and basketball and is already a super fan of a different college program and went to college at a different school but still somehow wants to leave his job and move his family to coach at some place because he used to go to games there as a kid???? It’s just so preposterous and national media rightly chastises the fan base for it.

General Coach Candidate News

I've served my purpose and will go now. Discussing McCollum vs. DeVries could be worthwhile... Go IU

See my post from Tuesday.  I tried telling you fine folks - McCollum or DeVries.   I could not resist in returning to this board and fear that I'm here for the long haul...

I will field questions after the announcement.

It appeals to their doomer fantasies.

The most unsurprising news of the day. It has to be McDermott or McCollum at this point. I won't entertain Brownell as a possibility :)

Don't rule out Mike Brey as a surprise candidate.  At this point, I have no confidence in who it may be.

Just saying:

If they gave me the opportunity to sign Devries or McCollum to IU right now at the cost of eliminating all other candidates?

I’d jump at that and be thrilled.

IU not wanting Will Wade just means that IU doesn't want Will Wade. It doesn't mean they have a big time hire. They just might not like the risk he brings.
