5 Tournaments in 15 years at Clemson!!!

Ohhh, baby! Hoosier Nation, get ready to rock and roll because Brad Brownell is takin’ over the sideline at Indiana University! This is a big-time hire, Diaper Dandies, and you better believe the echoes of The General—Robert Montgomery Knight—are alive and well in Bloomington! Assembly Hall is one of the cathedrals of college hoops, and now Brownell, a gritty, no-nonsense coach, steps onto the same hardwood where Knight built his dynasty! You talk about passion? You talk about fundamentals? Brownell brings that old-school fire that Hoosier fans LOVE, baby!

And let’s not forget, Assembly Hall is a place of BANNER moments—we’re talking five national championships! Who could ever forget 1987? The clock winding down, Keith Smart, cooler than the other side of the pillow, rising up and BAM—nails the jumper to beat Syracuse for the national title! That’s the kind of history, the kind of legacy that Brownell is stepping into! It’s not just about winning, it’s about Indiana Basketball, tradition, passion, and pride! Hoosier fans live and breathe this game, baby, and they expect nothing but the best!

Now, Brownell’s got a golden opportunity—this is his moment to restore Indiana to the elite of college hoops! He’s got to recruit like a PTP’er, bring in the kind of talent that makes Assembly Hall an absolute madhouse again! The Big Ten is a gauntlet, no doubt about it, but this is INDIANA, baby! The land of McCracken, May, and Zeke Thomas! If Brownell can tap into that Hoosier magic, get the fans behind him, and build a team that plays with heart, toughness, and discipline, then watch out—because the candy-striped pants are ready to dance once again!

Better stick with Woody and keep going 19-13. He'll figure it out before he's 70.

What does Woodson have to do with hiring Brad Brownell?

Why? Because he's made the tournament 5 times in 15 years at Clemson? Very real chance the Brownell experiment ends similarly to our last half dozen experiments.

Because he would actually do the rest of the job that a college basketball coach is suppose to do when he is the face of a program and because I want someone the actually loves being a college basketball coach instead of a coach that clearly doesn’t love college basketball.   Again only my opinion but give me Brownwell over Woody 809 times out of 809.   Not close

It doesn't, silly goose.

I would take Brownell all day everyday over Woody and it’s not particularly close so I’m fine with however this turns out

This is the post you were replying to

You asked why he would take Brownell all day everyday over Woody. Implying you wouldn't.

We just hope that 'I like being a CBB coach' and having a track record of being a successful coach (in our eyes) can go hand in hand.

But @KathywithaC said that Mike Woodson wasn’t fired. He retired because he was mad that Dolson wouldn’t confirm he was being retained. You know, the classic “If you can’t confirm that I am going to be granted a contract that pays me well into the future, I am going to forego any future payment on my current contract and just resign” situation.

I realize plenty don’t want to address the truth of what happened, but that’s what happened. And he didn’t forgo anything.

Not even close to being able to keep them however if they all stayed he would be at the top of the hot board if they had a year like they had the year before.  He had to move on as well.  ISU can’t pay what everyone that left ended up getting

I have no inside info, but he’s someone I could understand taking a chance on. Not at the top, but one at the mid-major level that I like.

Peegs: Darian DeVries is the No. 1 option for Iowa. Rumors say he is worried about Iowa's NIL, but if they make a commitment to that, DeVries will be the next Iowa coach.

If they can't get DeVries, they will immediately put the full-court press on McCollum.

WVU seems squarely on the bubble to me so there’s a chance Iowa could make this happen very quickly if WVU is left out in the cold and DeVries really is their guy
