Makes sense. I hear what you, @IUBtown and @IUHoosierJoe are saying. You'd hope donors would give a new coach a great start even if not their preferred choice, but what you guys are saying makes sense too. lillurk, JaybobHoosier, IUHoosierJoe and 2 others 5

Your feet are held to the fire the second you step foot on campus and you're burned alive at the stake by year 3 if desired levels of success aren't achieved. That downside far outweighs having money to buy a new roster every year, which doesn't guarantee anything. As long as the new guy isn’t getting repeatedly blown out in premier non-con matchups each year…isn’t having stretches in conference where they lose *checks notes* 7 of 9 games (or worse) most years they’re coach…and actually puts effort into recruiting relationships so they don’t have to “buy a new roster every year” it’ll be a big step up! Hey let’s get people to think that the coach they want most is coming, and then it not be him. That’ll go over well. Furthermore, if Brad had indeed removed himself as a candidate, it would be logical for Dolson to make sure everyone in his inner circle (including donors) knew this so they would stop spreading false rumors. And really, no coach midseason has ever said: “Hell yea I’d take that other job” or “You got me Mr/Mrs Reporter, I already accepted another gig I’m leaving.” It’s a denial right up until accepting. go iu bb and JustWinBaby 2

Everyone has their own opinion. Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk I don't have "love" for McCollum, though. That's the thing. I have watched Drake one full game all year and the highlights of two more games. IMO, you're generalizing your fear. You just want a good ball coach. Let's find one. And yeah, of course, everyone has their own opinion, which should be understood getting on here. DSUMMITT, Home Jersey, moyemayhem and 1 other 4

Popular Post LamarCheeks Posted March 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 12, 2025 I think Brownell's "rumored connection" to IU is born purely from writers speculating that he could be a candidate. And that is for two reasons 1) He's had a couple very good seasons 2) He's from Indiana and I would think about 90% of that speculation is because of No. 2. I obviously don't know for sure, but I have doubts that he is or ever was a serious candidate. BtownStrength, Trish, Pagoda and 9 others 12

Nobody has ever admitted they were considering another job at this point in the season, but everyone asks and then takes these statements as gospel that they are staying where they are. So silly. theriverpilot, JustWinBaby, 8bucks and 1 other 4
