Anybody making absolute declarations in either direction of it happening or not is personal bias. Nothing has moved forward. It’s not that deep yet. But I think people can see today the level of coach we are probably at. Unless Dolson has a shocker up his sleeve of Donovan, Wright, Few, etc., I think we are working at a level lower than the TJO, Cronin, or McDermott’s of the world. Beard would be in that level. Hopefully money talks after a disappointing exit for the TJO, Cronin, or McDermott level. I have legit no clue which way we go, but I trust Dolson in this process more than previous AD. Even if the name isn’t the sexy name.

I just don’t think we win enough and coaches see how impatient the fanbase and University will be. Not an easy job when you know a 180 on culture will have to occur without the benefit of patience. Now we are probably at a lower tier of hire with the same requirements. More money for sure. At some point we just have to win. I do like some of the other unnecessary barriers are seemingly not in place this hire. I have hope. No expectations. coonhounds 1

So let’s get a synopsis of today: Goodman says that we’re out of the running for our top guys and then says we should hire Beard if we want to win but would be surprised if that happened. Rabjohns confirms Beard is getting vetted and that Brownell is definitely a candidate. I just think all this conjecture is proving Dolson is keeping it close to the vest…which is very true. I am of the belief we pay good enough that if you have confidence in your abilities you would want to come here and be a hero! This is part of coaching at a big basketball school.
