Old Friend Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 The good news? Out rebounded them by 23. Shot 20 more FT's than they did. Phinisee had 4 assists and 1 turnover in 30+ minutes. TJD is a ballplayer. I guess shooters are on the way in a year and I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty. And it was not pretty. I'm not jumping off the cliff like some; and I have a whole lot more to say; but that was not their best performance. cappymo14, HoosierAloha, bleedhoosier and 3 others 6 Quote

When he was on the floor, IU was +17 in points. Regardless of your feelings about his up and down play, he's the guy who does force defenses to guard the perimeter more which in turn clears up our posts more. Do you know the nature of his injury? Just watched Archie’s post game presser and he mentioned everyone being healthy for yesterday’s practice but no mention of an injury tonight. Quote
Hoosier Guy Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I hope IU just didn’t take Nebraska seriously. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’s the case Quote
Alford Bailey Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 We need guards! Been sayin it since Yogi graduated. 5-25 from three. 20% HoosierTrav 1 Quote

If Smith is replaceable, I don’t know by whom because it sure as hell doesn’t involve anyone we have on our bench. Both of those guys are important if we want to have sustained success. Our guards need to play better on ball defense and hit shots pure and simple. Not sure why Smith is taking heat for tonight Honestly I didn’t really intend for it to come off as me bashing Smith because I’ve been content with his play for the most part. I say Rob is indispensable because he’s the primary ball handler and the only true PG we have. Quote
Popular Post bleedhoosier Posted December 14, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 14, 2019 Man, listening to coach in post game sure does make me feel better. He knows what the weaknesses are, he takes blame, he wishes he did a couple things differently. These are good qualities to have. He's very grounded. I still think he was the right hit. This program is stuck because we don't give anyone time (or Sampson gate). Y'all lost ur minds trying to run Archie off already. We can't operate like, hang a banner in 8 or get out. We're in the tourney this year. TJD is better than Romeo, our 3pt pct is up, our free throws are up, the overall defense is better. Steady hand. thebigweave, sweetpain, HoosierAlex and 6 others 9 Quote

HoosierInParadise Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Last year we lost most of our close games....12 out of 13 games if I remember correctly. Is jury still out on how good we can be? Sure. But I like winning more than losing and if we are winning these type of games now and can be playing our best basketball at then end of the season then I will continue be happy when we win games...Sent from my LM-G850 using BtownBanners mobile app thebigweave and cappymo14 2 Quote

RaceToTheTop Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Got to give TJD his props....he certainly is a man. Think back to the two players of most similar incoming pedigree to him --- Noah Vonleh and Thomas Bryant. Have to say that TJD is better than either of them were as freshman. bleedhoosier, theriverpilot, WayneFleekHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

rcbowla Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 The entire exchange began with a poster that said Crean’s recruits were some of our best players. I disagree and I was staying on that topic. As basketball players, I think we have multiple guys that are more competent than Durham and Smith. Do they necessarily have the same stats? No. They also don’t have the same experience or minutes. For example, if you give Hunter the kind of minutes that Durham and Smith have played to this point, I think he’s head and shoulders above both of them. Edit: Minutes in his career*Then I apologise for not understanding your intent. I took it as suggesting they aren't 2 of our better players which to me they are. Getting into comparing at points of time in their development is a whole different topic in which I'd agree mostly with you on. Let's put this one to bedSent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk Quote
