Brass Cannon Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 God imagine how many teams are going to lose banners if this comes to light. We already have Syracuse that should have lost one. Louisville that lost one and UNC that should lose 2 probably 3. Quote

It's no surprise they all get paid -- I just can't see a kid passing up $$ in his state to go somewhere else for free. Bagley was never high on Arizona. Popular Post Yogi'sBicep Posted September 28, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 28, 2017 Looking back: We only had a handful of guys we got from top 40 in Creans tenure. Totally substantial reasoning as to why now. We were always in top 7 for recruits never hardly got them though. FCTC face is being saved a bit right now for me personally. mdn82 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Fun fact, Louisville has been the most valuable athletics program in terms of revenue the past few years, if I'm not mistaken. If they beat out Texas, Alabama, Michigan, or Ohio State I would be shocked. Good thing this won't matter when determining punishment as the NCAA will still get theirs.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Hiring his father and overpaying him, the same thing Washington did, probably got the job done. But the Bama thing is pretty much textbook. Quote

HoosierAloha Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 What are we thinking the total number of coaches fired in this? One minute lieutenant Pitino is out along with 4 assistant coaches and an admin. Does it reach double digit head coaches fired? 20+ assistants? It'll be really interesting to see how far the FBI digs on this one and what/how programs are effected. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners reconmkd 1 Quote

rcbowla Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 So with most of this stuff being done through assistant coaches would it be safe to assume that the head coaches have been having assistants do the dirty work to be able to keep plausible deniability? Or do assistants reveive some kind of bonuses for recruits they land? Hence giving them the motivation to pursue these avenues. HoosierTrav 1 Quote

That's the way it's been for years, and a big reason why the NCAA took away plausible deniability as an excuse. HinnyHoosier Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Don't know if it's been mentioned since we heard of his resignation from Bama last night, but Assistant Coach Baker has been found to be "Staff Member - 1" in the federal reports. Even though the university said it found no evidence of wrongdoing after its internal review, it seems the FBI already has.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

If he in fact did run a clean ship and we have nothing to worry about through all of this then he would be responsible for the opportunity given to IU to make a serious resurgence. Now if there were issues then all bets off and hammer the man. Just think we should lay off the cracks on him for now. I don't necessarily disagree, but it's a tough line to take while there is still that "if". At least we may know quickly, since Kenny is already involved. The Kenny Johnson connection scares me as does "he has great connections" Schilling since he apparently did well recruiting at UCLA and is now on our staff. No. But to his credit, assuming he didn't break any rules, he played the game the right way and was able to bring Indiana back to some national notoriety. That is no small feat when all the chips are stacked against you. That deserves credit IMO. Walking Boot of Doom, AKHoosier, Capt. Crimson and 12 others 15 Quote

Trust me - this article will completely educate you about the coming events. It will also highlight in vivid detail the quality of evidence that the FBI can acquire through the use of the far, far and away most effective investigative tool; THE RECORDER! The next time I hear someone state that all ya need to do is "follow the money", I am referring them to this article's description of the incontrovertible relative weight of evidence that can be obtained with a recorder; far more so than through interviewing liars and reading documents. If you read only one article this week to try to understand how to get the evidence needed to prove a matter, this one is a good place to start. Stromboli, hsrtxp, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 3 others 6 Quote
