Yea that makes sense. I'm assuming he averages like 17 points and 8 assists. And Purdue will be a Top 15 team.*

*if Heide, Kaufman-Renn, and Colvin are fantastic in their greatly expanded roles. None of them played more than 16.9 minutes per game last year, and all are being counted on for 25 minutes+.

Painter is going to Painter. Colvin will be really good, I think. Definitely curious to see them without the safety valve of Edey, but Painter….

I’m interested to see as well. Edey way, way more than a safety valve, they were awful without him, but now maybe we’ll see how they look without a truly dominant big

IMO, Painter without Edey is a poor man's version of Wooden without Sam Gilbert. He's still a good coach, maybe even a very good coach but he is not the myth and legend some make him out to be.

If he averages 8 assts I would venture to say he probably deserves it, especially on  17 points.

I’d love to find a place to bet against that though.

Actually I was curious so I looked this up…according to espn all 7 assists for smith in the title game were to edey. I think 5 of them were close enough to be classified as layups or dunks which with edey typically meant he was already in the post.

Also, over half of them can in the second half when they were blown out already.

lol…

I can’t see this, but I saw a picture of him a few days ago and thought the same thing.

He looks  bloated and red in a high blood pressure-ish sort of way and he’s pretty much totally gray which I’d never really noticed being that obvious before. Maybe he’d just had a really nice porterhouse and a couple of scotches the night before.

Looks more like he had a really nice scotch and a couple of porterhouses.
