  1. I have no idea about the NIL/donor situation, but IU sure seemed to run out of $$ for basketball. Obviously not the defending NC's, but still a dynamic wing and solid back-up PG & C and we're looking at a likely legit top 15 team. Again, not exactly apples to apples, but not sure the well is as deep as we might hope.
  2. No doubt, we'd all be furious. But I would still take the trade-off.
  3. BUT if he left as NC, would it have been worth it?
  4. He's good and I love the optics of getting a 5 star "in-state" player...but doesn't feel important to me. If he goes to Texas or L$U, oh well.
  5. And why would you even want a guy on your team that is betting on them?
  6. What a clown show. The silliest part is Sorsby is only pretty good. Not close to a generational talent or even very good. Not that his talent level would justify playing him, but Tech is soooo desperate to matter they sold their soul (and destroyed their already tenuous reputation) for a merely serviceable player. That Cody Campbell guy is a grade A D-Bag that WILL create more drama and chaos as the puppet-master down there. He puts Jerry Jones and Al Davis to shame as a meddling "owner."
  7. Of course, but the solution won't be the obvious, logical one. Remember, they were already making a lot of money 20yrs ago and look where we are now. Every decision has been to make more $$ (whatever the trade-off) and schools & conferences solution will be to continue to further pervert and distort the very product that got them here. I think the golden goose will be killed at some point and everyone will wonder "what happened to college football?" No one was clamoring for coast to coast mega conferences, unlimited free agency and ever exanding playoffs, but here we are.
  8. Do we have any idea what kind of timeline this might have? I know Jay Bilas has been adamant that it will be over-turned and Sorsby never plays.
  9. Absolutely, another nail in the coffin of college sports. Should at least be the veneer of legitimacy.
  10. Yes, if everything goes perfectly, I agree. Injury/Fatigue/Fouls/Match-ups are all gonna happen though. Then not so nice.
  11. Now do 1 & 5...that is the issue. We have no other PG on the roster and 2 Centers, that both will be starting. After that it gets awfully thin. There is no world where either Sherrell or the big Turk play 30+ mins game. So I agree IU has some depth, but it all appears to be at 2-4.
  12. It sure appears that way. I would LOVE to be pleasantly surprised by IUBB for the first time, in a long time. But as it stands, the roster construction is questionable, at best, IMO. I will give it a chance, but am cautiously pessimistic and prepared to be disappointed when Sisley inevitably ends up guarding a B1G center and is predictably getting abused. Having one starter slide over to cover another position for an injury/foul/fatigue is not "depth." For instance if Lindsay is the starting SG AND back-up PG, then there is no back-up PG. Same for Sherrell at Center. It's a house of cards. My credentials? I recognized Bailey wasn't a B1G center last off-season. I also recall Colin Hartman (among several others the last 20yrs) playing out of position as "center" for long-stretches and what an embarrassment that is.
  13. No, but it might not be who we want to come. The current roster, as constructed, would be worse than last season, IMO. Not the talent, but the glaring holes. Going into next season with 3 unused scholarships and no depth at PG or C means the staff is utterly incompetent, like keystone cops level of idiocy. I seriously doubt that is the case and I expect a couple more additions.
  14. I've mostly ignored the baseball team the last couple of seasons. Any chance IU makes a coaching move now, or are we in for another forgetable season next year?
  15. I tend to agree, the roster is more talented across the board. One of the attributes from last year that was so remarkable was the consistency. Talent doesn't always = consistency, so will that talent make it a better team? TBD, but if so, could be scary good.
  16. I'm not an NFL guy much anymore, but I would take Moore in a heartbeat. Dude is a player.
  17. Alexis would still have a year available IF it is retroactive, which the wording seems to indicate it is. Does he & the staff want that? No clue, but I think he'd be a perfect fit for what IU still needs. What chaos that will create though, all the sudden hundreds of players are eligible to return to school for another season. College sports sure are interesting nowdays.
  18. Besides geopgraphy he had the choice to play for an incompetent clown in Pope or an angry, little caustic troll in Cronin. Tough call.
  19. Maybe we agree more than I thought, But in my opinion, they need someone for more than just worst case scenario/long-term injury. Fouls/match-ups/fatigue with the bigs are gonna be regular occurences. Much like we saw this last season, post play is vital in the B1G. So gotta have depth, since one is none.
  20. That is great in a perfect world, but foul trouble, fatigue & injury are certain. If Sherrell twists an ankle and is out for 3 games during conference play, who is playing center in your scenario when Samet picks up 2 quick fouls? I think a capable back-up center is still an absolute requirement for this roster.
  21. I like this approach. The back-up PG & C don't need to win games, just need to not lose games. Competent is fine. For center I envision someone like Langdon Hatton from a couple yrs ago. Big body, not flashy, but affordable! For that 3rd spot I would LOVE to get a dynamic Wing scorer. Probably tapped out the budget already, but adding an above average SF would make this line-up pop. But if they are comfortable with the committee approach I would be fine with the 4/5 option you described instead.
  22. Right. It would actually be worse than last season. MUCH worse. They did the best they could in the circumstances last year, this time they were apparently prepared and got several of their top targets. To intentionaly leave a roster as incomplete as this would be mind-bogglinlgy stupid. I don't think the staff is stupid.
  23. I think Wilkerson, Enright & Alexis would be perferct for the remaining 3 openings. Pipe-dream, but wow.
  24. I'm with you. Not a fan of being single threaded at any spot. Also, don't want your back-up at one position to be the starter at another (Sherrell for Samet) So get a competent back-up PG, Solid wing starter and competent Back-up Center and you have a VERY well-rounded, deep capable team.
