According to the first 10mins of this video by 'Locked on Big 10' the momentum for this PE plan has slowed down due to USC & MIchigan's skepticism. He thinks one of the aspects would be "underperforming" schools could be evicted. He mentioned Purdue, Northwestern & Rutgers.

True, and beyond that, while I don't claim to know Cignetti's motivations or reasoning, from what I have seen, it would be surprising for him to leave IU after this season. Granted he was only at Elon for 2yrs, but that doesn't seem to be a great comparison. Feels like he likes the IU rags to riches arc and it completely belongs to him. Wouldn't be on brand for him to go to a Penn State, IMO. And the truth is IU is a legit top 5 team right now.....we don't have the resources of the big dogs, but are getting the results.

You are not wrong- it was a very poorly officiated game. In the first half IU was screwed out of 3(?) OBVIOUS pass-interference calls. Not 'couldas' but OBVIOUSLY impacted the play....no flags. Then that abrupt D-line shift that resulted in 4-5 false starts. Apparently this crew missed the day that rule was discussed. In the second half IU did benefit from a couple of friendly spots, so it wasn't all one-sided, but definitely bad.

Cubs seem so lackadaisical in this game at the plate & on defense. Hard to see them win with no intensity. Brewers are annoying, but at least they seem to care.

With the condition of the starting rotation, I have very low expectations for the Cubs in the NLDS. Horton is out, Boyd has been great, but looks out of gas. Imanaga is giving up 4 homers per inning. Rea and Tallion have be terrific end of rotation guys but not sure you can count on that in the playoffs The offense has been so inconsistent. Just don't get swept. Of course, the Brewers will choke eventually and I'd prefer it this series, but hard to see the Cubs out slugging the them right now. Hope I am wrong.

Yeah, O$U's defense looks like the best unit (offense or defense) in CFB this year.

Is this team as good as they looked against Illinois? No. Are they as bad as they looked today? No. Somewhere in between. They aren't elite Top 5 level, but around top 10. During and immediately after the game I was pissed off. Yes, it's a 'tough enviroment' and Iowa is sound on defense, but that was ugly. If their QB doesn't get hurt, they win. If their dependable kicker doesn't pull a very makable FG, they win.....But with a little time to reflect, this is still IU football and any win should be celebrated. Finally, does anyone have an explanation for what happened on the last possession? Overall the game was reasonably well officiated, but that final sequence was completely inexplicable. The referee should be publicly shamed and fired, at the very least. I simply can not understand any scenario where what he did was not malfeasance or gross incompetence.

IU is not the team I thought they were, at least the offense. Reading their own headlines? Iowa is a solid team and tough at home.....but this is an embarrassing effort.

Not sure how Michigan-Maryland or Oregon-Penn State, among others are "rivalries" but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it either.

I haven't been dialed in to the NIL/profit sharing issue, so this may be a dumb question. If IU, which according to Forbes (I think) had one of the most valuable basketball brands, and the B1G is printing money for it's members and football revenue has sky-rocketed in the last year.....if IU doesn't have enough $$ to go around, how does anyone else? I expect a handful of the traditionaly elite football schools (Bama, Texas, O$U) to have more cash, but shouldn't "we" be in the next tier and ahead of 90% of Div 1?

Always, or just in general? I used to agree.....but I'm starting to think 22-23yr old 3*'s are better than 18-19yr old 4*'s.

Result of the ridiculous "conferences" we now have.There was such a rush to accumulate as many schools as possible (because of course, more is always better), no one gave any thought to the practicalities, like "does this make any sense at all?" Even if all 12 games were in conference, you can't have a balanced schedule. So what is the answer?

The "no respect" thing gets overdone, IMO. But here are the top CFB stories on ESPN.com right now: Obviously ESPN has completely prostituted itself to the $EC....but a top 10 team gets beat by over 7td's isn't a top story? That is pathetic even for them.

I agree on all points. After the ODU game I was really nervous about Mendoza and the run defense....they have alleviated those concerns :)

Run a flea flicker to score again. Go for two, then on-side kick. Bielema deserves total humiliation.

No fan base deserves this like IU's.
