  1. At UCLA then at USC in a 4day stretch sure sucks. Do they just stay on the West coast that week?
  2. I know this wasn't your point, but their D has looked solid from what I've seen. The offense is putrid though. With as much experience as they had returning Joel Klatt picked them to win the NC! If they weren't in the ACC, I'm not sure they'd even make a bowl game.
  3. I had to read that twice....
  4. Probably a dumb question, but why did he bother to visit? Just to leverage a better offer from Louisville & Kansas? Obviously a lot of nuance in recruiting, especially now, but seems like a waste of everyone's time if IU had no realistic shot.
  5. UCLA sure has the makings of a dumpster fire.
  6. True, they have the talent and despite the wailing, probably the coaching (although they may not mesh in this instance.) BUT sure didn't look like they have the 'want to.' I watched most of that game and some highlights afterward. Bama was soft and sluggish. Only one game, but they sure didn't look like they cared. If drive and motivation is their issue, that is harder to overcome than a many other problems. I am an IUFB fan, so I am an expert at identifying bad football!
  7. I bet he does too! He's a good coach, just seems out of place there.
  8. My other thought is who are they gonna hire next? There are good coaches, but the Saban era ain't happening again in the current environment, even if they convinced Saban to come back. Bama can't just out-bid everyone anymore for top talent. Although I think Deboer is a good guy, I personally am delighted to see Bama struggle. Remember, you can't spell "incest" without "SEC".
  9. His buyout is $63million!! That's a lot of jack, even for Bama. Link He's gonna get another year, but the hilljacks are gonna be riled up!
  10. No. I like Brando. He's a liittle over the top, but treats every game like the NC.
  11. Yep, obviously Belichek knows football, but he's no savant. Give the average WalMart greeter the talent and asst coaches he had, and they coulda won 5 SB's.
  12. What I think of when I see him. My apologies to the horrible, creepy hairless cat for the comparison.
  13. All 3 of them stuck with IU over a coaching change (from a crap coach to a garbage coach, neither of which they hired) and gave their all to the team. What does DD want, for them to abandon IU and never return? What a D-bag. He's bitter because even though they had mediocre results, IU welcomes them. He won and still no one wants him around.
  14. B1G volleyball is ridiculously good.
  15. Pretty rough day for the $EC. If LSU loses tonight Cletus will beat his sister-wife then burn down his trailer.
  16. Just gave Bama new life. Sheesh.
  17. Hard to feel good about this one. Obviously the first game and ODU has played others P4 teams tough, blah, blah, blah. Still, Run defense was terrible, dropped a sure TD, missed a FG, fumble, turn-over on downs, poor short-yardage blocking, Mendoza looked very rough. Over all a weak effort against a SBC team. IU isn't a top 20 team, imo.
  18. Not too worried about the offense, you can see they have tools. The defense appears to be kinda slow though. Maybe confused, but definitely reacting slowly. As others have said, ASSUME the QB is keeping the ball, because he has 75% of the time so far.
  19. Monumentally stupid decision. For the reason you mentioned, the weather and culture. Wisconsin had 35yrs of identity they casually flushed. I'm thrilled, but it's still breath-taking how something that dumb wasn't scotched by someone.
  20. Pretty typical corporate speak:
  21. None of the B1G teams looked great....or even good, last night against the MAC. Wisconsin was up 3-0 on Miami late in the 3rd quarter. Tacked on a couple TD's, but can't pretend that isn't alarming. Minnesota wasn't much better against Buffalo, from what I saw. Very lack-luster offense. I didn't watch Rutger, but winning a shoot-out with Ohio isn't encouraging. Nebraska at least played a big boy team, but was very average on offense and bad on defense against a one-dimensional Cincy offense. Sorsby can't throw. IU only gets to play one of them (thanks super conference idiocy!) but if opening night is any indication, the Big Ten looks mediocre, at best. No one picked any of these teams to be elite, but Neb & Minn were supposed to be upper half. If that happens, the lower half is sure gonna suck.
  22. According to the email i got from youtube it is final. Woulda been an epic disaster for them not to sette before this weekend.
  23. Based off Nebraska's showing last night against a very pedestrian Cincinnati team, I don't think '9-3' is realistic for them. Btw, Sorsby leaving was a good thing, he runs well, but can't throw....at all.
  24. Yeah, seems most of the previews I've seen have IU around 8-4. But some just can't help themselves, like this schmuck from a USC site: Big Ten picks, has IU at 6-6. A 10-2 season this year would be more impressive than last year, imo.
