Chris007 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Pretty much like I said that IU wanted to talk to McCollum in person in St. Louis, and he said not right now. We hired DeVries instead. Their AD goes into great detail on the process. You don't see this very often. https://x.com/jeffdubrofkcci/status/1904250373923029120?s=46&t=7ne9GC6huISCbUobxYenXA WayneFleekHoosier, Josh, thebigweave and 4 others 6 1 Quote

I’m still not entirely clear on CDD’s vision for the program, but it will be pretty clear in three weeks. Home Jersey, Chris007 and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

My take on Devries after watching that video? A nice guy that discusses things in a logical, sane way. The proof of his and his staff's competence will be reflected on the court; until then we'll speculate, but the result and performance is all that will matter, HoosierHoopster, pumpfake, BGleas and 4 others 7 Quote

Same thing with his Mendoza interview. It doesn't really matter just a preference from random anon fan. Home Jersey 1 Quote

I could imagine this being a stressful search for Dolson. We will get to find out soon how much juice the hire has. 8bucks, Chris007 and jermhoosierfan 3 Quote

They've improved actually, less of the odd cringey stuff from when they first started. But for a while now, I think they do a really great job of getting the interviewee to open up and have some fun. That being said, I don't need to see DDV on the Hysterics. But their interviews are enjoyable. Class of '66 Old Fart, kottke, Stuhoo and 4 others 7 Quote

I'm probably wrong, but he doesn't come off as a former athlete or a big sports guy. He's a money guy. These interviews just don't do much for me. I listened anyway just wish they would get someone else to do them. Stuhoo, Hoosierfanyuh, thebigweave and 1 other 4 Quote

I still only listen if folks here give the particular show a seal of approval though Quote

They do have some that Miller Kopp was doing for the Player's Perspective, and he was actually not to bad coming from the athlete perspective of asking questions. I don't expect them to really dig deep like you would with someone who has been doing it for several years like a Bryant Gumbel for example. It is pretty cool to get this side of them though. RaceToTheTop Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Seems like Drake is becoming a stepping stone to a Big Ten job. Last three coaches -- Medved, DeVries, and McCollum -- all entering the Big Ten this year. OliviaPope40 1 Quote

I suppose we will see if the right decision was made in the long run. FYI, I believe that the correct one was made. Chris007 1 Quote

Hovadipo Posted March 25 Posted March 25 This is definitely an awkward interview. Pete is more comfortable with Cig and it shows. And he keeps interrupting. Quote
