Popular Post Artie86 Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 .....just finished watching the presser. 2 major things that stood out to me. 1. Coach has very a similar mindset, work ethic and expected "end game" as Coach Cignetti. 2. I LOVED his approach to the players, the team, the program, his assistants and the fan base as "WE"! There was no power hungry " I " as in, "I gotta do this","I gotta get them better", "I gotta get this team going"....... He truly values his staff and what they have to offer and contribute. This will be very welcoming and refreshing!!!! OliviaPope40, kottke, Willkie71 and 12 others 15 Quote

The Cignetti hire gave Scott Dolson major credibility. It worked for me too! His hire still has me on cloud nine and he would have to really mess up things for me to take him off the pedestal. He made the dream hire I've been wanting since Mallory was let go. And to have Whitten support the football program? Oh man, I've been dreaming for this for a very very long time. cthomas and ebridges24 2 Quote

Popular Post HoosierInParadise Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 I thought we needed a big name coach for this hire. I thought for IU to be relevant again we NEEDED someone to wow the general public. Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Peral, any of them would have done. I was disappointed when I found out who it was. I started to do research on CDD, listened to him in the press conference, and found out...I was wrong. Henryville Hoosier, Silat Player, soindianahoosierfan and 14 others 17 Quote

Look at all the awards that Rice, Ballo and Carlyle won last year and didn't sniff a B1G award. Pac12 wasn't nearly as physical. Not much emphasis on defense. I was just really disappointed in Rice's ball handling and decision making. Couldn't believe how often he played in the half court with his back to a defender so he wouldn't get the ball stolen. You just can't play PG that way. Mr. Jackson will disagree with you. moyemayhem, str8baller and OliviaPope40 1 2 Quote

But sure, make up Whatever narrative you want so you can ***** and complain. Some people are only happy when they are mad. Last week when he was romancing Iowa? My list may not be your list but where does D-Rock from the legendary tree off McDermott slot in at. Izzo, Painter, Altman, May, Mussleman, Underwood, Collins,,,,, maybe here. I guess if he's Crean and doesn't alienate the people that can shut down the state and can get us in the tournament, and maybe get a team to the second weekend once, D-Rock will be ok. Quote

Popular Post BA47591 Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 I apologize for the offensive nature of my input today. I do enjoy this forum and many of the contributions made. They are thought provoking and often times encouraging. It's been my intention to not be insulting to anyone. I am a 50+ year fan and times have changed. Let's all hope for a Mullins flip. That would bring excitement to all. JustWinBaby, PartyintheVillas, HoosierInParadise and 5 others 8 Quote

Any relation to BehindTheBench? I had a similar overreaction when the last Chi-Chi's shut down for good. Silat Player, HinnyHoosier, PartyintheVillas and 3 others 1 5 Quote

I've seen over 25 in my life and McDermott ran out of Iowa State. Just because this is going to be better than the last 10 years doesn't make it great. Massive NIL is a cross to carry and hopefully this is the guy that won't crumble under the weight of it. We get nastier each failure. Quote

This program has tried to get by on BS "flash" without substance for the better part of twenty years and that hasn't helped. 18-15, 25-5, 21-10, 19-10, 22-11, 3 NCAA appearances and 1 Sweet 16. That was Wade's first 5 years at a P5. LSU was 10-21 the year before he got there. People fall in love with names. With Beard, all Dolson has to do is go to Pat Knight and say, "Hey what about this guy?" We aren't the only school that sniffed that and saud "No Thanks" and he had 2 really good years in P5 and every other season was between 18 an 22 wins. It isn't like he is winning 25+ games a year and that whole thing with his girlfriend is a MASSIVE red flag. Anybody complaining before the ball has been tipped in the first game is just a professional pessimist. Jeff Flabjohns, moyemayhem, Pagoda and 2 others 5 Quote
