I'm a little bitter about how some people who have been on here for years have treated me but I'm not going anywhere. I thought some of us were friends but that didn't end up being the case. But Dolson got someone he really wanted and don't believe anyone who says this was his 5th choice. DeVries was a name Scott liked since January just like McCollum

It seems to me that Dolson preferred DeVries to McCollum because of his lengthy D1 experience.  He wanted someone he knew was ready and didn’t have to learn on the job.

I also think DeVries was always going to pick IU over Iowa simply due to our resources… this wasn’t a decision DDV made this week.

I wouldn't try to explain anything to anyone on here they don't deserve it.

I have nothing bad to say about anyone who put out info. I appreciate the info. I would love to hear the whole story. I keep an open mind and understand things happen. I don't understand the hate. To each their own.

I believe you have it backward. DeVries said yes first and McCollum needed time to think about it.

I'm going to trust DeVries personnel choices / roster construction without judgement until I see it in action during year 1.

as long as MM is gone, sure. lol

So did he view them about the same and it was more a matter of timing?  Or do you think he had one ranked ahead of the other?

Hey sunshine, you could at least wait until the guy's introductory press conference? Lol

You're wasting your energy Jersey.

We have a group of people who are insatiable. In fact I knew what several reactions would be before they posted. I don't know how this will turn out but I'm glad the search is over and will back the coach and hope for great results.

Thank you for the kind words, good sir!  I may rarely have the inside story moving forward, but this one was rock solid or I wouldn’t have shared.  And hoping your neck is still intact;)

I'm not sure you did this time but you fooled someone who moderates this place. I'll reply to your DM when I get a chance. Can't wait to hear what you have to say moving forward.

Some people definitely didn't handle the situation well. That's been the case in multiple places.

I love seeing the WVU fan crash outs. It’s good to have a new coach whose fanbase is angry about him leaving.

That is a good point in all of this.

But with him only being at WV for one year, it makes me nervous that he will be looking for greener pastures from here as well.

Eff the haters man. Keep on keepin' on. This might have already been asked and my apologies if so. I'm curious, have you heard any other info regarding the pecking order between the two coaches? I know you mentioned McCollum was like 1b at one point. I'm wondering if you happen to know if that order was reversed, meaning DeVries was 1b and McCollum was option 2.
