This place sucks. I think the info here has been great, and I appreciate people sharing what they share, it's fun. The info on this board was much better than a place like Peegs. DeVries has known the IU job was opening this spring and he and Dolson have been in communication since. Turns out Dolson really did get "his guy." I don't have verification of this but it would line up with other things I've heard. Sounds like post hoc spin. We’re supposed to believe Dolson got googly eyes for Devries over some rum runners in the Caribbean? They’re gonna pump out those stories to make it seem like he wasn’t a backup option. thebigweave, WayneFleekHoosier, hoopsta007 and 1 other 4 Quote

If it makes you feel any better, Stevens will probably never coach college ball again. Yup. He didn’t reject IU, he rejected a career path he didn’t want to take. Not a single thing wrong with that. Now, if ends up at KU or UNC down the road, seriously doubt that, that would be a pretty giant FU and would rate some pretty lusty booing should that opportunity present itself. lillurk, thebigweave, Silat Player and 5 others 8 Quote

I just want DeVries to put together a team that can not get whipped in Lincoln, Iowa City, and Evanston in a single season. Can he do that? Well he managed to beat Kansas, Arizona, Iowa State and Gonzaga in one season with one of his star players was out due to injury... I have expectation that he can. Yep. Going to be a lot like UK, Louisville, and Michigan. Whole new team. I wouldn't be surprised if Goode, assuming he's back (some dude on Assembly Call think so), is the only returner. Sisley it sounds is coming regardless. Quote
coonhounds Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I'll take a coach who shows life on the sidelines as opposed to what we've had the last 4 years. Teams so often take on the identity of their head coach. We've seemed mostly lazy and disinterested since Woodson got here.I love it. I was saying easy target though if we're losing. I just hope everyone from dolson to devries knows winning is king here. Crean had it rolling till he couldn't beat syracuse in sweet 16 then he was a clown. Let's win!Sent from my SM-S926U using Tapatalk Quote

Popular Post Hoosier Guy Posted March 19 Popular Post Posted March 19 Are we seriously still ragging on certain posters? Information is wrong sometimes. It’s not life or death if someone isn’t always correct on a message board. I’m thankful that posters like to share what they’re hearing at the time. Recently not so much as this board just got more and more delusional. Honestly curious as to why: 1. "Insiders" are treated as insiders. They literally have zero inside information as evidence of this search and just throw out vague comments continuously. And when they incorrectly predict something it's "well shoot things changed this morning!" and all is well... 2. People treat them ("insiders") as though they are Associate IU AD's and they get free passes? Aka why do people eat this stuff up? Not trying to troll or anything but genuinely curious, I don't get it It’s a free message board and people can post and believe whatever they want. Corollary to that should be these dudes don’t get super sensitive when questioned. You’ve been consistently wrong for awhile, just take your lumps and laugh it off. Instead it’s the woe is me routine: “This place sucks”. “This place isn’t what it used to be”. “Fine I’ll just stop sharing my information then!” I actually prefer the wild Brad Stevens New Mexico desert fan-fic to that sirhoosierlot, Eagle’s Rug and 4iufourever 2 1 Quote

None of them were coming DeVries was one of the best non-whale options. He’ll get us consistently in the dance, and work from there. It’s a process. If DeVries had been one of the top 4 choices that would have been proof positive that Dolson was settling and wasn’t doing his job to try to land the best coach available. To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if DeVries was the tenth choice. With all that said I’m still good with this hire. mark1981 1 Quote
BehindTheBench Posted March 19 Posted March 19 5th choice, says it all. Such incompetence by Scott to let it fall apart like this. Is this guy a top 10 coach in the country? Top 20? Top 50? We need to start to realize what we are. Outdated. Old. Forgotten. Irrelevant. Just an embarrassing day for Indiana Basketball. Asha’man, Eagle’s Rug, Silat Player and 6 others 4 4 1 Quote
