Gentlemen (and Debbie Downers), we already have a solid 2 players in Tucker and Sisley.  A lot of pieces out there to complete the puzzle.  We'll be in the tournament.  Look at it this way -- all we have to do is figure out a way to beat Nebraska and Northwestern and we're in.  :)

It didn't stop kids going to UK past year when they over turned their entire roster.

Disagree. $10,000,000 is indeed a lot of money but that in no way means he can get “whomever he wants”.  Yes, we have cash but Texas will have just as much for Conwell, multiple schools will be able to match our offer to Bidunga, etc etc.

IMO having $10-11M absolutely should minimally guarantee a tournament team with the ability to make a deep run. Think we all agree on that. I don’t think it’s as huge of an advantage as it sounds like though. I think there’s probably a certain threshold (well below that amount) where the question is: do you have enough resources to be competitive: Yes or No? And once your budget is above that threshold, the surplus dollars have more diminishing returns because you’re, for the most part, using it to sell depth guys on playing supporting roles/bench minutes. Gotta spend big to get top talent and round out the rotation, so every dollar helps of course. But we know the coaching has to be there too and we saw that last year. We upgraded the budget and the coaching compared to last year so I’m excited to see a fresh IUBB program.

Kid averaged 9.6 points a game this past season and has 20 schools showing interest.  9.6 a game is probably going to make him a million dollar man. The $$$ escalation is just crazy and I can’t imagine what it would be like to be a talented college basketball or football player these days.

At one point last year there was talk of Conwell wanting to handle the ball and be more of a combo guard. A smart coach could make both work. I would love to see that type of scoring talent at the guard position.
