Genuine question, if the reports leaked around the first day or two that we had locked up Orme as our first get instead of Olsen, do we think the reception around here would be much more positive and hopeful? Seems like the project similarly but we are dooming because he’s our only guy. It’s day 2 of portal and hardly anyone has guys committed yet. I’m choosing patience. We’ll get guys.

Our two most heralded newcomers last year were Mid Major POYs in Devries and Wilkerson. I am hopeful that no matter what, our best two transfers will be higher regarded than those two.

There's enough of the IU fanbase that has pretty advanced bbIQ. We know enough to know when a team is talented and underperforming and why when we listen to the mumblings of an incompetent coach. We know enough to know when a mid major coach has no staff and tries to build a P5 roster, that we're screwed. 

There's an extreme branch of that group that goes ape sh7t on social media, and an insane subset that writes hate letters. 

We have more than a passing interest in our basketball team. If he finds a way to pull in an interesting portal group and then gets that into the top 5 of conference and wins a game or 2 in the tournament by outcoaching the opposite bench.....this all changes. 

We gave Woody a fortune for his last year. We are probably pumping a fortune into this year to fix it. Have faith brothers.

By IU, you mean donors and boosters correct? IU has only X amount of dollars to allocate towards player compensation via revenue sharing and the majority of that money is going towards the football program where it should be anyway. The basketball staff will spend what money it has but they just can’t ask the administration for an endless amount.

This was always gonna be this way unless we overpay.  We aren’t willing to overpay, so we will get what we get.  I’ve been ahead of this from the beginning. Could see exactly how it was going to go.

When we sign another middling roster during the pay to play era, the fanbase will respond accordingly.  Simple as that.
