Ive also seen that apparently, BP isn’t a fan of Under Armour, which is who Auburn has, and it’s been said that Pearl’s #1 preferred apparel company is Adidas because of their NIL program structure….hmmm, I might know a school that could help him out with that.

Let's say we lock down Bruce. How long does he coach? Are we doing this all over again in 5-6 years? That is the only drawback to hiring a coach of his age imo. No doubt he'd win and energize the program. I'd be elated to have him. The other side of me says if we go after Dusty, he's someone who could be here for a couple decades if he pans out. Sure it's a big IF. Must say, I'm torn.

I remember reading that Fitz had a great interview for the position but Whitten told Dolson no. A little reading between the lines on my end I suppose, but that to me sounds like he went to get a Fitz hire approved but was rejected. 

I have zero issues with the Cog hire and am really excited for the season, but that to me was an indicator of Whitten’s approach to athletics (I.e., firmly within the lines).

And I don’t believe anybody is completely risk free.  You can poke holes in anybody’s resume, although the holes in Pearl’s would be very small.

The risk/reward with Pearl, IMO, is much better than Dusty at the moment. 

Dusty could be the next K but he could also be the next Archie Miller. You know what you're getting in Pearl. A winner with a good track record in March.

Pearl for six years is fine he is a proven winner. Would be our best coach since Sampson.

Fitzgerald still has a lengthy uphill civil battle to fight on top of any potential fall out from the NCAA while they are still in power. Totally understandable why the university would pass on Fitzgerald at this time, he’s not out of the water yet.

I’m fine with getting Bruce in here for 5-7 years to energize the program while Dusty spends time at another high major program for those 5-7 years proving himself.  Then when Pearl decides to hang it up, we bring in Dusty.
