The optics nonsense is some of the most ridiculous stuff I’ve heard.  Everyone knows Woody is being fired because he’s an abysmal coach.  Everyone.  Nothing is going to change that.

Just get it over with.

No game until Friday…seems like after a meltdown in the last minute in a crucial game is when optics of moving on are best.

The next day games will be complete beatdowns. Purdue is going to make Woodson look like a fool.

In fairness even if he gets blown out it won't be as bad as losing a game squarely because of your poor coaching decisions. He is under a microscope already and everyone took notice when it was obvious he has no clue. Trying to walk out without shaking hands and your own player having to save you from further scrutiny doesent help anything. Today was worse case for him. Possibly a blow out loss would have been equal but it's debatable. Looks like today the kids hustled and made enough shots to win but when they needed some guidance their was none to be found

No idea who could be the next coach . I think it  should be someone who does try to recruit Highschool kids in state at least be seen during the tournaments and be wiling to talk to the coaches and family .I don't care if the new coach wants to change things up a bit like names on the back of jerseys ,I do want the coach to look for someone or more than one who can hit 3 point shot and make free throws ,realize its a team sport and not try to be the one to always make the shot .

Woodson was always saying well wait till they are my guys ,well that is what this team is and guess what I think its awful .I really am not invested in keeping any of them ,let the new coach picks the team .

I understand where you're coming from, but is there a serious basketball fan on the planet that would not see through the "retiring for health reasons"? Sure, there are causal fans who might believe the spin, and they could even sell it as a simple statement for posterity's sake... but Woodson is a horrible coach who's failed at every turn, and there is honestly no way to hide that fact.

No only is Indiana basketball utterly depressing, it's the biggest scam in the entirety of the NCAA. My choice would still be to go full scorched earth on Woodson, Buckner, Ferguson, Spears and the rest of them...

Oh don’t get me wrong, I agree. I just think they’re completely tone deaf / living in their own reality and that’s how I assume they’re seeing it. It is a **** show to put it mildly

Once Woodson is gone ferguson should not be within 100 miles of the iu campus. The damage he has done is unreal.

Totally agree! The silence from administration is only coming across as weak leadership at this point. There is to much noise to be silent. If admin wants to wait till the end if the season to move on it, then come out and say it. Make a statement that it won't be decided on until the end of the season. But that the same time, if you're going to do that, just let him go now. We are pretty well past the time for him to be able to get a positive victory lap with the way this team is playing and the way he is coaching/not coaching...

I have yet to see it. I will watch the last 10 minutes tonight. All I know is it went from the king was goibg to win to another blown game when I looked on my phone.

IU has been in and out the Top 10 for the past several years, however, we had the lead Purdue by a decent margin and now it’s all evened up. I’m more surprised than IU hasn’t reach 2000+ yet

Anything going on today? Went to Nick’s for the second half of the game and you couldn’t even tell there was a game. Was told that one of the assistants is building a house and called the builder to say he wouldn’t be living there. 
 

I think the wheels are turning. Obviously not a matter of if, just a matter of when.

That'd be really dumb to build a house when you have one of the most volatile jobs one can have. Maybe a HC that's successful but not as an assistant under any circumstance.

Back when Bruce Weber was coaching at Illinois I think they got ahead of us for a bit. We just need Purdue to suck for about 6 years and we'll get it back.
