If the IU admin wants to really fracture the fanbase, they'd hire Beard. That would not be a hire made to bring the fans back. Then if he didn't win big immediately? Wow, that would make this toxicity look tame.

Luckily, I just don't see any way IU would hire him anyways so this argument about whether or not he should be hired is moot.

If Louisville nor Kentucky didn’t hire him, no chance he’ll end up at IU.

Sadly, if IU wins tonight and next weds I'd say all of this talk is moot for a little while. Seems to be a trend with Woody. When it gets real bad he somehow gets a few wins and maintains low-end mediocrity.

With how much the team is focused on tweet fighting with people you might not have to worry about that. They are not focused.

Not sure if you were here last year but Dolson wanted to move on. Buckner told him he could move on if he got a big name but it couldn't be Pearl, he tried Stevens but he said the timing wasn't right. So he got May, but Buckner said he wasn't a big enough name. Then he pulled the Archie got 4 years so Mike is getting 4 years.

But Dusty knew before talking to Louisville or Michigan that most likely this job was going to be open this year hence the 5 million buyout

Buckner really is such a cancer and needs to be completely removed from any authority over IU basketball.

To put the Beard incident into perspective.....I have been absinthe drunk in the alleys of Okinawa at my worst and never thought of biting someone let alone my girlfriend or my wife....I know a lot of other drunkards who have done some crazy shiite but biting a wife?? Thats new one...

Full blown active  addiction is truly an ugly horrible disease that will cause episodes that are mine boggling.

That was my thinking too, isn’t Kenya the most experienced on our staff? Should be him if anyone

Imagine Dolson having private meetings with everyone on staff…

”So Kenya, here’s where we’re going and we we need you to step up and take over for us for the short term. Will be a great resume builder, and we’ll kick in an extra $100k for your efforts.”

“Thanks, Scott, I’m truly honored…but, going to have to pass this time. My knee has been a little sore lately,  and I really need to give it the attention it deserves. Have you tried Ya yet?”

Dolson, 4-5 meetings later to his admin…”Get me Adam Howard in here STAT!”

Cheaney should be the only option considered if a move is made mid-season. You can't put Hunter or especially Rosemond in charge.

Armond Hill.

Just kidding, that'd probably make us miss Woodson's coaching.

If anything we have learned over the past few years that money/NIL alone can't buy you wins.

You still need someone who is the stage of his life of being willing to work hard, and has the drive to be a winner.

I honestly don't care if it's Stevens, May, McCollum, Beard, etc. Just go get a guy who works as hard as the players he coaches and let's roll.

Ok just kidding I want Stevens more than the others.

It doesn’t buy you wins but it can get you talent. Getting a quality coach over quality recruiter is even more important now. Because the talent will come for the NIL.

We’re firing the wrong people.  Probably to make room for more money so the King can have a raise.

One option said no thanks and then you go to the assistant who has been on staff the longest

Woody’s $1M raise in 2023 after two years of doing the basics (one tourney win) was nonsense.  It also increased his buyout, though it helps we can pay it out slowly, it’s still more money out the door.

I’m sure Quinn was behind it — more money deposited to Mack Financial.
