I love the thought of Stevens but he’s been out of coaching for a while now. Never dealt with NIL or the changing recruiting landscape. I really don’t think he’s as close to a certainty as people think. It’s risky. Beard and pearl are the most sure things there are. Outside of that we have calculated gambles. Let’s hope we get it right.

NIL is making college coaches very much a mix of coach and GM

I'm relieved that Woodson will be done (officially) at the end of the season. 

Now I'm steeling myself for the disappointing hire that will likely follow. At least I have some time to prepare myself since that's more than a month away.

Contemplating retirement and now Woodson finishing out the season.  Until I hear an official retirement announcement, I'm going to assume this is all PR spin trying to calm the fans.  In my opinion, Woodson and Buckner are still pushing to not make a decision until the season ends.

Woodson finishing out the season with a confirmed resignation/retirement is the least messy way for this to conclude. It's traditional, less volatile, and less speculative. Easily overshadowed in a few weeks. The last thing this administration needs is extra negative attention while trying to close the deal that's being done.

I absolutely don't like him as a coach or a person, but I gain no pleasure by him being fired early.  As long as he is assuredly gone, let him suffer the slings and arrows from the fans to finish the season in Assembly Hall, if that is his choice

Beard is our man. Came within a review of a Natty coaching Texas Tech; something his hero and ours never did there. He’s flawed and made mistakes but keeps winning. Give him a bag and a morals clause and start kicking some @$$.
