The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

I didn't believe that last year and wanted Dolson fired (I even started the thread lol). Now I've come around to believe that he might have actually wanted Woodson gone last year but was blocked. Remember that the AD's office never made any official statement of Woodson's return or even a statement of support. There was radio silence from the office. The only thing we got was a "leak" to the media that Woodson would be back.

That could be viewed two ways: 1) the AD/university don't care about basketball or 2) the AD didn't support Woodson getting another year. I'm going with #2.

This year is such a disaster that I don't think a lame duck Buckner has the power or credibility to keep Woodson longer. 

With 2 years left on the contract, it's extend or let go time. Woodson definitely hasn't earned the extension.

So quinn and ferguson are going to let their good buddy remain and go into West Lafayette and Madison and get the snot kicked out of his team. What good friends they are!

She is getting reprogramming at the moment to be up to date on the new style smoke and ultra sensitive mirrors needed for this but she will be along shortly.

Don't Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond both have the title of Associate Head Coach? I would think one of those two would be the default choice for interim HC.

Probably not but someone posted earlier in this thread said that none the assistants were interested, I don’t remember who posted it but I know Crean is available and he acts like he would love to get back into coaching.  I know his system and whatever MW thinks he runs aren’t the same and hiring him is probably not realistic.  But I do know this team has talent and these players just need to be coached and motivated and if a guy like Crean can keep it simple and motivate them, he compete and possibly go on a run.  If they decide to fire MW now, it still be someone internal.

I need an update on the February action items!  Is Mike Woodson even on the AD's radar?  That picture of Scott behind the bench suggest he may be thinking about Woody.  Where are we in the stakeholders' deliberate process?

Letting him step down is letting off the hook.  He needs to be dragged through the mud like he has done to everyone else!

She is with quinn dealing with the process. They are trying to figure out how much to offer wittman to take over next year. Rumor has it Simon Scott is ready to give him 26 million in NIL. They realized the issue is Woodson simply does not have enough nil

Hate to break it to fans who don’t know IU very well and are having a visceral reaction because of that, but there is no ground swell to remove Mike Woodson. This is not a culture prone to making knee jerk decisions based on the whims of fans, who frankly don’t have the first clue what goes into this process. 

There, I saved everyone some time waiting for Kathy to return. Lol

Frankly, just about anyone coaching that last minute other than Woodson, and we win that game. That last 45 seconds was an embarrassment of failures - starting with not having our best foul shooters on the floor - that led to our loss.
