I think I'm going to be ill.  I can see it now, 4 years from now when Ohio state is really good, people are going to ask why IU didn't hire Dusty from FAU.  I'm going to have to utter some nonsense about it was important to give mediocre Mike a 4th year because Mike's wealthy friends were adamant that Mike get a chance to prove he can coach even though we knew the answer was that he couldn't.

Maybe we could pull him from either school the way Texas Tech poached Chris Beard from UNLV mere days after he was hired.

Musselman could be a hot name again next year.  Bad year for Arkansas but that hasn’t been the norm.

We don't need another car salesman. We fired our old one.

Beard had a good P5 gig, but left for his dream job. Roy Williams had perhaps the best P5 gig but left for his dream job.

I've said it before, I'll say it again; if Dusty May is successful, as I suspect he will be, he will have to turn us down at some point. The money won't be an issue. Here's to hoping being his alma mater and growing up with Knight means something to him when the time comes.

Well if Dolson has any balls and isn't a complete fool of the highest order he'll pull the plug as soon as we lose next.  You never know.

Beard 100% left for a better job, though. Lots of guys would make that jump. And Dean was still alive when Roy came back.

I don’t see IU getting anyone out of the OSU or L’ville jobs, but I don’t know much about May.

Trust me if either school hires him they'll insist on a massive buyout should he leave for IU in the next 10 years.  If we want we have to move now.

I would say IU is a better job than OSU. I take your point on L'Ville, but I think the point is it won't come down to how good the job is or the money. It comes down to whether he values IU above all the others.

With Beard there was a narrative out there for years that UT was his dream job and it was just a matter of time. You hear similar things about Dusty, but who knows if its true. UT was the better job but at the time people thought it was closer than today. TTU had made a championship and an E8, he had built a crazy fanbase and they were prepared to find the money to make a crazy offer. They just couldn't beat out the fact that Beard always wanted UT. We have to hope that Dusty feels similar.

Question to the group.  Do AD's have discussions with coaches about the possibility of openings in the future.  Would Dolsen have a conversation with May or another coach about what is happening behind closed doors at IU.  Example - we are having CMW back next year and he will be retiring on his own, but we want to line you up for that position when it happens.  I sure it happens to some extent but really don't know how all of that works.

Dolson would not speak to coaches directly. But someone representing IU could speak to the agent of a coach to gauge interest.

So wait, I forget and have seen it both ways from people…if you’re someone who wants Woodson gone, is it better for us to lose tonight and that makes it easier to get rid of him, or do we want them to win and go as far as they can so it can be looked at as going out on a high note before he takes off? Just want to make sure which one I’m rooting for tonight lol I don’t want to actually root for them to lose, though, but just wondering which makes the most likely sense that could increase the probability of him being gone IF Dolson is able to pull the plug after this year.
