Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Exactly the type of guy this roster could have used. And Woodson didn’t know him. GTFOH. Closer, my @$$.

Gallo at the 1. Love at the 2. X as the third guy and Cupps not playing would have helped. And give Leal Gunns minutes.

That’s winning.

I will say that probably half the board said they didn’t want Love.  I may not be a smart guy but wanted Love.

He twitted this last night after the McNeeley announcement and explained why on his outkick show and most likely his radio show today. I didn't listen. I use to hate Dakich but I follow him now and I listen when I can to his radio show .... a LOT of stuff he says or said before it happened ... is accurate. Plus this year he has some great guests on his show that are NOT all ex IU players.

The tweet I posted is from an hour ago.

Except Dakich is supporting Woodson.

So from I am gathering now, Dakich is saying IU caught a break with ‘prep school’ McNeeley decommiting because  ‘Woody can turn it into a positive’,  says that woody handled his press conference today ‘perfectly’ because he ‘doesn’t owe the media anything.  **** Dakich.

I still think there's a chance (maybe more hoping) that the press release was put out to get the attention off the program looking (or getting) another coach. This gives Woodson the chance to say he is retiring, and the administration can say, well we wanted him back, but he retired. Optics...

I may be selling our administration short, but there is no way an AD could look at the trajectory of this program and say, "Yes, the future is bright." We have no HS prospects even sniffing. Are we going to get a whole roster from the portal every year?? That's insane! If this administration sits on their hands again and allows this to happen, we will have another 10 years of mediocrity. I don't have enough years left in my life to sit by and watch that kind of **** show.

Wow....you really went out on a limb with these predictions......lol.

Will Woodson coach next year? Most likely yes.

Is Tuesday's meeting still happening, in some form? My understanding is also yes.

Osterman, when asked to jump, will simply ask... "how high?" I anticipate this news cycle to be steady until March Madness.

As of today, do I expect a change to be made? No.

But do I believe that has been officially decided yet? My understanding is not yet.

All I am saying is... never say never. Oh, and Cathy, have your people call my people.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Multiple outlets (IDS, etc.) confirmed the report with an unnamed athletic department spokesperson. So the idea that the announcement is all just one unconfirmed leak isn't right.

That having been said, the entire matter couldn't have been handled more strangely, so that does naturally invite skepticism about whether that announcement is the final word, especially as circumstances continue to unfold.

But the report was confirmed.

I don’t see anyone disputing this at all, maybe I’m missing something. The point was nobody spoke about it on the record, and there’s only a small # of people with the power to confirm he’s coming back.

Not going on the record is a choice. Why would, for example, a staff member in the AD make that choice? Probably because things could change.

Yes Caleb Love. I edited mine because I remembered that one ended as soon as he left Bloomington

The shear volume of intel coming out about recruitments being lost due to Woodson not being involved, not knowing players names, or his overall lack of energy is beyond infuriating. Sounds like his staff has been working their tails off to get us in position to win recruitments but then Woody comes in (or doesn’t) and fumbles the ball on the 1 yard line.

imagine the staff reading all of the stories written about how Woody finally giving us a seat at the table, blah blah blah. This has to end. We are about to become Louisville. And I’m not sure we can ever recover from that.

Doyle doxxed the creator of the Fire Mike Woodson petition. The creator PMd Doyle to take down his article doxxing his full name and previous job employment to which Doyle aggressively responded "no". Is there any legal implications that could come Doyle's way? I didn't read his stuff before because I think he's a quack but now there is a 0% chance I ever look at anything from the IndyStar. I used to enjoy it, but like all journalism lately it has rubbed me raw - they couldn't pay me to read their column.

Mike Woodson doesn't fumble the ball. The ball fumbles Mike Woodson

You're killing me Smalls. I made a conscience effort to stay away from this board after all of the shenanigans. And now I have to decide whether to post a Sandlot, Soprano's, or Super Troopers gif (we all know @Home Jersey is pulling for the Soprano's "Just when I thought I was out" gif). You are the devil.

That guy should now start a "Fire Doyle" petition.

I'm surprised nobody has even asked a very simple, safely worded softball question.

I am surprised, to an extent, that Scott Dolson appears happy to hide away and be invisible. Personally I give him until about 6pm ET today until he speaks up in some form or another... otherwise appears to me his tenure is dead in the water, likely resigning in a few months

Highly wishful thinking but maybe there is still a missing piece to this godawful puzzle and that's why Dolson's laying low.  Plus, I'm sure he's in Minneapolis with the women's team for the weekend.
