OSU didn't look unbeatable today. It's not unreasonable to think that we come to the Purdue game undefeated. Maybe I'm delusional or maybe just drinking too much. I am right there with you, my friend. Unlimited potential as Cig said. This is a special football team. RoadRage and cybergates 2 Quote

With Purdue left on the schedule, this is minimally a 9 win season. That’s equal to the last 3 years combined. I frankly don’t think we should care about the amount, just get it done and keep this guy on our sideline. Agreed. Just pay the man. (And his associates/assistants/staff). Hoosierfan2017 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Big time college football basically prints money. Pay Cig whatever he wants and don’t let him leave until retirement. Banksyrules, RoadRage, cthomas and 3 others 6 Quote
Hovadipo Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Cig won’t leave because someone pays him more. Dolson has a lot more big picture, big money things to get rolling to keep this going. If Cig wants those things right now there will be nothing we can do. southsidehoosier 1 Quote
go iu bb Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I think CC wants to be known as the guy who made IU great. He needs to be here for more than 1-2 years for that. At least, that's my hope. RoadRage, MemphisHoosier, Joe_hoopsier and 1 other 4 Quote
cbp4iu Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I think I give Cignetti 6 years 66 mil (11 a year), 4-6 mil boost to Staff and 10 mil more in NiL a year. If he turns that down then he wants something bigger. rcbowla 1 Quote

There will be a bidding war for Cig. If that’s the case why isn’t every SEC coach paid north of 10 mil? Only 4 coaches in the sec make 10 mil or more cybergates 1 Quote

True....there are programs IU will likely never be able to compete with, but most of those programs have really good coaches or prefer younger guys often already in their system. I don't think money alone will be the main factor, hopefully Dolson knows what is most important to him and works very hard to make that happen! Quote

Dolson has to see that what he has going right now is a cash cow. Could make the money back and then some. Maybe I'm misreading the room, but I think CCC loves what is going on in Bloomington right now. He may even be a surprised at where we are. He said that, with the proper support, we can be a championship team right here at Indiana. That would be awesome. Home Jersey, thebigweave, hoosierfan6157 and 5 others 8 Quote

You can see the joy in his face in almost every interview that he does. He sees what he's done here and the reaction of the fan base... he's turned around every program where he's been head coach... and stayed multiple years at each stop. IUP (2011-2016), Elon (2017-2018 - shortest stay as HC), JMU (2019-2023) and now here. Each time he moved up from D-II to FCS to FBS... with what CCC has done at IU, we're pretty much at the top level... now it's about maintaining... I don't see him the least bit interested in moving for the time being... but nevertheless, pay the man and lock him in. Banksyrules, cthomas, RoadRage and 4 others 6 1 Quote

cthomas Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 As I watch other teams play, I'm not seeing many that we can't compete with/beat. We are a legitimately good, balanced football team. For the first time in a long time we can play on both sides of the ball. I've been watching since the late 50's and this is the best all around team I can remember. We may not be as deep, so we cannot afford too many injuries, it's football and injuries are just part of it, so we are going to need to be very fortunate! I love this team and this coach! cthomas 1 Quote

Indiana opening the wallet to hire him slightly above dead last in pay. If you think money isn’t important you’re being obtuse on purpose. We gave him more money for assistants and more money than any IU coach ever and we still are at the bottom of the B1G. He will get offered huge money this offseason, I hope he declines but we are going to have to push the salary to top levels or he’s gone. It’s simply reality. go iu bb and Home Jersey 2 Quote
sweetpain Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 Has there been a story of how much Cig has generated from ticket sales and made IU? Along with all the income from ESPN, Noon Day KO. The businesses in Bton have to be loving it. It would be interesting to see something on that. I understand hard to get an exact $ amount but ballpark Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk go iu bb, 8bucks, MemphisHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote
