coonhounds Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I am getting better at handling losing! So there is that. Sad I spent so much money this weekend at the game for that performance and feel bad for my kids. But I am definitely dealing with it better. 30ore years of this and I may be able to laugh and smile about it. Time will tellSent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk rcbowla 1
go iu bb Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 You can't have injuries and expect to keep winning. Just look at the woman's team... Oh, wait, they're actually good despite injuries. hper50, GoIU8, Loaded Chicken Sandwich and 2 others 5

Brass Cannon Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Unless you get five 5 stars every year you have to be able to develop players. And I don’t recall the last time I trusted one of our coaches to do that. Sure every year there’s one or two guys who come back better but my guess is that player was just a self starter and got better with their own drive. Woodson was an nba coach where player development isn’t as much a coach responsibility. And he wasn’t honestly that great at the skills an NBA coach needs. Jordan Geronimo should be a kick @$$ basketball player by now. He’s got the physical tools. And he’s just the latest in a long line a guys that should have become absolute beasts but after multiple years still seemed confused by the sport GoIU8, Jeff_Boy_Ardee, go iu bb and 2 others 5

I didn't like crean but his player development for the most part made Archie and Woodson so far look like they don't have a clue. Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk tkbbn and MikeRoberts 2

Yes but also year to year player development was a thing. Generally 1 or 2 players made a noticeable improvement. Some made big jumps. Not much improvement lately. Archie it felt like guys got worse even Sent from my SM-A326U using Tapatalk

rcbowla Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Fire him.Not sure if you're joking or not but I'm kind of there. Seen it in 2nd year of Archie and see the same in 2nd year of Woody. We're rutterless and it's better to cut ties sooner than later. I still say he'll get next year at least but if he's still going nowhere it can't go beyond that. BtownStrength Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I suppose for most this is the anger stage before the apathy and then the eventual firing (may be more like retirement in Woodson's case). I am not completely without hope that we can succeed but it's hard to imagine. More and more I find myself not caring if I miss games...what decades of underachieving do to a mf.

Hoping he can turn the losing culture around.

Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk Good teams don’t hold onto to coaches once it’s clear they won’t succeed. The giving coaches years to drag the program further into the depths is why we are here Can anybody honestly see a vision where are improved next year. If JHS has a brain he’s gone. Xavier is gone. Race is gone. Trayce is gone.
Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 The Woodson era will be the era where apathy sets in with a large portion of the fan base, imo. It’s basically where I am at this point. We needed a home run hire after we fired Archie and Mike Woodson was not that at all. It was Dolson waving the white flag in some ways. I hated the hire at the time and I still don’t like it. Woodson’s second season is looking a lot like Archie’s. At this point I don’t think IU will ever be elite again. It is what it is. Not all good things last forever.

rcbowla Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 I'm not even angry or sad. I just feel hopeless. I see no hope now, in immediate future or foreseeable future. Something I used to look forward to is now becoming something I almost want to avoid.
