Because we were only scheduled to play Purdue once during the conference season.

We were only scheduled to play them once in conference that year so we played them non conference to get a second game.  I believe the Big 10 protected the 2 game yearly rivalry after that.

Well that is interesting. I don't remember that. Which I was only 10 so.

Sooo... It's 20 years... But there's a chance... Right?

Played Purdue at the RCA Dome that year. Decent game but wasn’t quite the atmosphere of the UK IU games in the dome.

There were actually 4 more seasons after that in which we only faced them one time, including Crean's first season. Purdue being Purdue, they tried to arrange for a non-conference matchup when they were the preseason Big Ten favorite and we had just nuked our program, then went around flexing after we wouldn't agree to it. I always wondered where their offer was the year before when Eric Gordon was here and they were starting 3 freshmen.

I definitely don't remember it lasting that long.  Stupid Purdoo

I remember a 50's tournament with IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Butler. Don't remember what they called it or where it was played. Or maybe it's just something that I have created in my mind over the years.

Brother we could be down 100 and I don't think it would make me want to watch the Colts at this point

If the Hoosiers are down 100, how would that be any better than what the Colts have done this year?  That would actually be worse

Is it 11 CST yet?!?

Let’s get this Jayhawk beat down started!!

Please…. NO slow start today.

GO HOOSIERS!

Amen. It feels so good to finally wake up and have a big IU game to look forward too. There haven't been many in the last 6 years. Credit to Coach Woodson for building a schedule. We as fans can get upset with how they play in these games, but I'd rather play Arizona and Kansas than the cupcakes they would play instead normally. I get teams have to play those games but a program like IU should have a non-conference schedule like this every year. I am greedy and wanted IU to win all 4 of them. I did say back in the preseason to split them and I'd be happy. I think the Xavier win is going to look really good in March. I have to think UNC will snap out of it. Arizona looks like the best team in the country. Kansas is Kansas. They are a top 20 team in a down year.

Incredible games all day with College Hoops. None on the actual ESPN channel. I get it's bowl season..but c'mon. What a slap in the face to this sport.

I'd love to see if IU/Kansas on the deuce gets higher ratings than Cincy/Uof6 in Fenway.

Houston/UVA won't beat the end of the 1st game and Oregon St/Florida.

Same. It's the NFL and college hoops for me anymore. Don't have time/care about the other sports. Anyway, I like our chances today. Jalen is playing. Feel the home court advantage goes down a tiny bit with no students there. Seems like a good IU crowd is there. I still think Kansas pulls out a close one. However, if Indiana can pull this off, they would have defeated the two teams who played in the title game last year. Add the Xavier win and that would be a heck of a resume thus far. Let's get it done!

We actually lead the series ag KU including there (2-1 i think).

JHS being back is ar least potentially huge. The Rutgers/AZ bad losses were both, imo, largely due to his absence.

We’re a 5.5 dog in this game last I checked, and I (begrudgingly) picked KU as they’ve been playing strong since their one L and winning there is really, really hard, but I would LOVE to see me drop in the pick standings with a big W

Let’s Go!
