Kevin Wilson sucked as a coach and probably isn't a good person. Tom Allen sucks as a coach and doesn't seem like a good person with his willingness to throw everyone under the bus instead of being accountable for the team he's in charge of.

Maybe we can beat MSU at home but I don't see us being road warriors and winning at either Illinois or PUke and don't even think about beating PSU or Wisky.

1) That was clearly hyperbole by mamasa, who has a long established posting history as a class act.

2) Tom Allen by most accounts is a pretty good guy, but in a Tom Crean hyperactive, true believer, awkward way.

3) By all accounts at this point, Tom Allen has crashed hard and irrevocably as the IU head coach.

4) But it’s not a binary choice; the comparison to Tom Allen does not need to be a nasty, alcoholic, dirtbag, ‘better but not great’ football coach like Kevin Wilson.

5) We can aspire to find someone who is a very good up and coming coach, who is not a dirtbag, and who, if they build something viable, is worthy of and gets massive incentives to stay.

The team has basically quit on the season again. We could beat Illinois or Purdue but not likely on the road. Allen is gone at the end of the season.

We have 5 more games to endure?  Have not followed as much but I felt that surely we were about done with the year considering how bad most feel about the program.

Wonder what kind of conversations Dolson has been/will be having with any number of heavy pocketed individuals on this gorgeous homecoming weekend. 

We’ll never know for sure unless it happens, but you can’t convince me Dolson won’t work his ass off to figure this out. “Power 5 Athletic Director doesn’t care about football” isn’t reality in 2023.

He nailed the basketball hire, which is all that really matters at IU, but I desperately wanted an outside hire for AD for a new way of thinking about the football program. Woodson is damn near killing it so who cares, but Dolson needs to do something with this program or get out of the way and hire a committee who can find a quality candidate.

I think Dolson and Allen can negotiate this. The $20M doesn't have to come in one payment. 

Give him $50K a year over the next 400 years and we're all set.

I think we need to be putting feelers out there and have a coach already waiting to take over to convince the donors/have any chance of buying out the contract. There has to be succinct plan.

It's not HIS fault the QBs (/offense as a whole/defense/special teams) continue to disappoint so the only solution is to try another QB. He already changed OC so that must not be the problem. It's obviously the players.

"I totally didn't say that thing I said".  Coaching isn't working but he may have a career in politics.
