Five Prime Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 On the list of factors that determine the outcome of an NCAA tournament game I'd put travel pretty far down the list. Let's go Hoosiers! HoosierAloha and Schreckbagger 2 Quote
hoosiersoxfan Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 They'll be fine, they are young college kids used to staying up until crazy hours late into the night. Guarantee they even stay up kind of late hanging out in their hotel rooms tonight even if they are a little tired. They'll wake up feeling fresh tomorrow. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Love his sense of humor after the 3-hour delay in take-off. @TrayceJackson The eagle has landed Happydaze, OliviaPope40, Joe_hoopsier and 4 others 4 3 Quote
HoosierHoopster Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Hope to see a LOT of Geronimo, more of Bates, X and Race settling down and firing on all cylinders, Galloway more under control and focused, and someone hitting from outside. Not going to sweat the travel & delays, these guys can handle that for one game, and I'm betting the nerves are behind them -- here we come St Mary's Stuhoo and go iu bb 2 Quote

Is he so beat up that bruises are on top of bruises? I understand that he always gets tough assignments. Thank goodness that Geronimo has hops and has developed that special sense. Someone said he was sick the other day so maybe that was what caused his play last night thebigweave, ALASKA HOOSIER, BtownStrength and 2 others 3 2 Quote

Thought it might have been nerves but recently being sick could be the explanation. Chris007 1 Quote
Popular Post Josh Posted March 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2022 A couple things guaranteed to happen in this game: Woody will have to rest major players due to jet lag, short turn around time between games, sleep pattern issues due to time zone adjustment I'm going to complain about Woody's lineups on the floor pumpfake, upperarlington, DLG3 and 10 others 9 4 Quote
HoosierCoop Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Just to see how we would respond, I would love to see this: TJD JG Galloway Bates X JerryYeagley23, Dave from Dayton, MikeRoberts and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Popular Post Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted March 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted March 16, 2022 If Race ain't playing well, bench him. Unless JG is somehow playing way worse. I think Geronimo is a matchup nightmare for St. Mary's on the boards. Galloway was downright awful last night. Hopefully he's got his mind right tomorrow. You got your first win and now just gotta relax. St. Mary's is no different than playing another Big Ten team. It's a game we can absolutely win. theriverpilot, Dave from Dayton, MikeRoberts and 6 others 8 1 Quote
NOLA Hoosier Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Two takeaways so far: 1. The media hates IU because they’ve been proven wrong every step of the way (firing Crean, hiring Archie, firing Archie, hiring Woodson, first four loss, etc.) 2. If that’s the best another conference has while IU has one of their worst shooting nights of the season, IU is one of the best teams in the country. thebigweave, Loaded Chicken Sandwich and Happydaze 3 Quote

Wyoming didn't win their conference or tournament so it's not their best, Neither is St. Mary's, neither will be UCLA. So we have a few games before we see a conference-best. pumpfake Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I had a sort of pragmatic thought this morning: first off, it's very unlikely this team can get to the E8 or beyond (s16 is a huge longshot even) - we're too limited on offense and inconsistent overall. But, it's why they play the games. What is encouraging is that our players & staff get what amounts to an "extra" game & venue - not beneficial for this tournament, but added experience and exposure. Two NCAA games at two venues, at minimum, could pay dividends next year and beyond with players like Geronimo, Galloway, Bates, and to a lesser extent any other upperclassmen that return. It's all good, man. Joe_hoopsier, taco corp, hoosierfan6157 and 3 others 6 Quote

Like we aren’t talking about playing San Jose State here (although Wyoming made it to their conference final). I’m just saying IU is playing the tops of conferences not named the B1G, and I could be overly-optimistic but I see B1G teams going further this year. Chris007, HoosierHoopster and raorIU 2 1 Quote

Where are you getting Wyoming made their conference final? Someone the other day had Wyoming winning their conference title or something too. They won their quarterfinal game against UNLV by 3 then lost to Boise St. by 7 in the semifinal. IUc2016, American HoosierX and Chris007 3 Quote

Josh Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Couldn't the team have left on the first plane and the rest on a second? I guess hope the players view it as a slight that adds fuel to their fire Quote
