Honkyman Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 The tournament was actually good to IU with, as the article points out, some exciting memorable wins. I don't mind ending the Crossroads Classic if it means IU playing in better tournaments with wider national audiences. But I would rather see IU play Notre Dame or Butler every year than some of the cupcake teams they always seem to schedule in the pre-conference. IU Scott Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I know it probably ran it's course but I enjoyed attending the event Quote

yogisballin Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I'm glad to see it come to an end. Personally, it was an event that I really never found that appealing. OldBuddy67, hoosierbgh, 323SGrant and 2 others 5 Quote

It could have been appealing in my mind if they made it a tournament just like Maui. 8 teams in 3 days. incrediboy Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Why not consider replacing it with a Midwest Classic? Kentucky, Cincinnati, Lousyville...there are a lot of possibilities. And rotate the teams so that each plays every two or three years. Stuhoo, Hoosierfanyuh and kottke 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Hosting Jackson State as a part of Indiana’s exempt multi-team event next season that will also include games against Marshall and Louisiana Lafayette, per Jeff Goodman. Jackson State finished last season 12-6 and No. 265 in the KenPom ratings. The Tigers are ranked No. 186 nationally in Bart Torvik’s ratings for next season. https://www.insidethehall.com/2021/08/09/indiana-to-host-jackson-state-as-part-of-non-conference-schedule/ go iu bb and MemphisHoosier 2 Quote

Enables CMW the ability to schedule an additional OOC game w/o playing in a 'true' tournament like Maui, Atlantis, etc. There will probably be a catchy marketing name associated with it as well.. Ken Nunn's Hoosier Invitational or something clever. @Chris007 you hear anything? Hutch89 1 Quote

Name wise I'm guessing it will just be called Indiana MTE, like Kentucky, Duke and others are called theirs. But haven't heard anything. But I do know we are a couple of days away from some IUBB.
