Anyone see a better article about where he has been and what he has done. I see some of the names he has worked with but was he working directly with them as a trainer, as an assistant somewhere?

I know he worked for one the best AAU teams. Can't remember which one but the one Thomas Bryant played for.

2 things are immediately apparent about Woodson: 1) He is in no way threatened by the presence of smart, talented guys around him. And I have met a lot of coaches for whom that is really, really not the case, 2) He openly and fully embraces the mentoring role.

He is an impressive man..

Indeed. From that article it looks like he's been developing professional players since he was 3 or 4 years old. Quite the prodigy.

I have my doubts that any 21 year old contributed to the development of Carmelo Anthony.

He was an intern and then assistant under Chris Brickley at BlackOps. He worked with most of those guys as an assistant with Brickley

 

Edit: Also Brickley was a player development coach with the Knicks during Woodson’s last 2 yrs as a HC there. So that’s where the connection likely comes from

Passing every preseason test and recruits and players seem to love him. I wanted a splashy hire to be able to sit at the table with the best players. It appears Woodson can get a seat. That’s huge in my book.

Welcome aboard Armond. What a staff and support staff we have and it just keeps getting better. Does anyone else in college basketball even come close to this level of talent on the sidelines?

I can't remember where we had left off with Larry Brown and IU -- if they ever had defined or had a role for him, whether it was as a consultant, off-court assistant, whatever. 

It's a moot point now ...
