My Prediction: It has to be Rosemond since there has been stuff trending. Like all those recent follows from people affiliated with IU, and lots of chatter of apparently on Peegs. And if he is hired, I don’t know what to expect from him, can’t tell if he is good or bad. But hopefully he ends up being one hell of an hire

Hypothetically, if Jabari came, would Trace play the 4 even though he can’t shoot outside? I don’t see how this works based on 4-1. Maybe Woodson just adapts to make it work.

Does he have a nephew that is about 6'5" and hits about 40% from behind the arc?  Asking for a friend.  (The Smith kid would be a big land but I think we may still need some shooting on next year's team.)

Smith for one year. I think it buys Rosemond a few. Cunningham's brother got 2 and it doesn't appear he brought much other than Cade to the team. Rosemond seems more legit as a coach

I believe based off of scouting and player comps that he'd be more of the stretch 4 than TJD. I have never watched anything on him and just going off of what I read. Say he's a face up 4 with a good shot from mid range and perimeter. Player comps on 247 were Jaren Jackson and Robert Covington

Think we should pump the brakes on Jabari Smith talk.

In the end, Rosemond has 14 years of D1 experience (2 as director of basketball operations and 12 as an assistant coach) and has ten years of experience at power 5 conferences.  He has a decent mix of experience and youth (think he's 39) and has decent relationship with recruits.  He's basically the third assistant coach on a staff and I'd say that his resume is decent for that role -- compare his experience to Mike Roberts, who has 10 years of D1 experience only 2 of which is at a P5;  Ostrom had 19 years experience with 8 being at P5, but he was a guy who had been with Archie for 10 seasons and really had no chance of being retained.

IMO, this is more about the regional recruiting.  Hunter is a guy who has East Coast connections;  Fife has Midwest connections;  Rosemond likely has both West and South recruiting connections based on where he's been.

Even without getting Smith I’m fine with this hire. But does seem odd that what this team desperately needs is a stretch 4 and he just so happens to be the uncle of a stretch 4 who was previously committed to the school he coached at

Nice. I’m good with it.  I’ve talked a lot about Indiana fans being too self righteous to compete in today’s landscape.  This is exhibit A or B.

 

 I think the new “marketing” rules can opening up some possibilities for Indiana. 
 

Let’s compete within the accepted means and see what happens.  Crean was trying to do this and did this on a few occasions.   It would be refreshing to finally be on level ground with the big fish.  
 

Also, I don’t think it’s fair to incriminate Ya without the full scope of the situation.  We have enough hindrances, we don’t need our fanbase to be another one.

I don't even know enough about assistant coaches to be mad about an assistant coach hire, lol. Are people upset about it being the former Alabama assistant because he isn't a good assistant, or because his recruiting isn't perceived as "pure" enough for some folks?

I watched video and probably wasted my time, but he’s quite intriguing at that size.

Wasn't he cleared in that investigation, though? I saw that Tony Adragna said he brings in shooting mechanics expertise. Our team desperately needs some of that.

He was cleared for any wrongdoing
