Never make the same mistake twice.  Like Woody, ask yourself would Fife even be considered if he wasn't an IU guy?  If the answer is no then you'd have to be insane to make him the HC.

I agree with this, however he was on Izzo's staff for 10 years and spent some time in charge of a program.

He's recruited high major players in the Midwest, knows the B1G, and is young and hungry.

Just playing devil's advocate, I'd like for us to get the best person possible whenever the time comes regardless of where they went to school.

I have no idea how bates and Geronimo didn’t get more minutes down the last stretch of games. It is mind boggling

Tamar and JG combined for 14 minutes last night good lord when are we gonna develop young high potential players that's awful

JG needed more minutes this year. I'm sure he will get way more next year with Race gone but damn, we could have used him more now.

I have never understand why not rotate Kopp and Stewart and start Geronimo at the 3. He is athletic enough to guard SF/wing type, and probably better than Kopp or Stewart can quite honestly.

The bigs rotation would be tough if you did this because TJD and Durr can't shoot too far out, but Durr actually showed decent touch.

He might be from the AD, or he might be the interim in a couple of years if he's still here. But he needs to take Woody out on the town for a nice bottle of Red wine and talk things out.

He was much more active last night than I've noticed all season. Sat at the end of the bench and was in Woody's ear quite a bit in crunch time. Maybe Rutgers was his scout? Idk.

Count me out on the heir apparent deal though. If we're gonna play the "good ole boys" game beyond this regime, Dolson isn't gonna work. And I really want him to.

I noticed that too with Fife but I do think it was his scout. I also believe that no AD should get to hire a 2nd coach after screwing up the first hire.

I'd be willing to give him a 2nd shot at it (if it comes to that; hopefully it doesn't and I'm not yet convinced that it will) but would also take the pen away as soon as he tries signing another old IU guy.

My sources have been telling me that Dolson has his eyes on Steve Alford if Woody doesn’t work out (or does work out and then retires).

Should have just done that in the first place

I can't tell are you serious or not?

That’s what I was hoping for.. :103: Haha.

My only sources here are the nightmares of btownbanners posters.

I mean they were college roommates and I could definitely see the old boosters saying Stevie is the only one who can fix this. I'm to the point I will go with anyone

We need some new age boosters who aren’t as enamored with the past, but on the flip side of that, those people haven’t seen IU have extended success. They’re probably less likely to pony up. For example, my parents are in their late 40s and were teenagers the last time we won a title, and basically my age the last time we made a final four. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised either if the old boosters decided Alford was the golden son who could fix things.

I'm almost your parent's age, was in 5th grade when Smart hit the shot. Totally agree we need new boosters. I'm also starting to think we will never get back to the way it was when I was growing up. I think we had a once-in-a-lifetime coach and it's not going to be the same. I do think we can be much better than we have been and can be elite again.

I'd rather have Woodson, and really didn't want Woodson to start with.  If we ended up hiring Alford, yuck there's a chance I'd root for pUKe.
