Interesting thread 
It appears everyone is a connected guy now. By my count we are hiring like 15 different guys.


Lefty: [while walking with Donnie to meet up with other crime family members] When I introduce you, I'm gonna say, "This is a friend of mine." That means you're a connected guy. Now if I said instead, this is a friend of ours that would mean you a made guy.

I think someone will break the news after the regular season but formal announcement after the season. JMO

If they hire someone that is still coaching in the tournament, they won't announce it until he is done for the season

My total and complete guess: it’s been Brad for awhile but only a select few know. Otz and Drew agents really like what they’re hearing money and NIL wise and people are hearing they’d hear IU out if approached.

He was the AD when Woodson was hired and also gave him the raise. That's true. It looks like his hand was forced and I hope that's true because, if not, then I'd give up hope on this search.

It was rumored he wanted to hire Pat Fitzgerald but got turned down by Whitten. That wouldn't have been an inspiring hire, so if this is true that would be a red flag. We ended up with Cignetti which looks great for Dolson and the search firm, which is the same as used for this hire. It's unclear if he was a name Dolson already had on his list or if the search firm recommended him, but we ended up with him so the process worked either way. Overall, since we ended up with Cignetti there is reason for optimism. It's clear that the criteria of what to look for was solid.

I will say that a lot of the names that are being thrown around I'd be very happy with. Stevens, Drew, Otzelberger at the top of the list but I'd be ok with someone like Cronin or McDermott.

So I'm trying to be optimistic but I can totally understand how others are more skeptical.

Thought the same but it could be Fitz was on a candidate list only. He would not really be a bad hire though, just Cigs ended up being great.

That would certainly be fun! Would sort of be the best of both worlds, getting to see how far our current team can go while also learning who the new coach will be and have them start back channeling for new players.

That would mean " dolson has his guy" was true all along and isaac tor is a genius.

lol they’ve made it very clear they’re just going to be talking about some interesting things they’ve heard. Is interesting Rabby and Trevor have been radio silent all day, hysterics are usually the ones to talk when they don’t. I’m sure they’ll be as vague as possible.

I don't know. It was mentioned here but that is why I made sure to call it a rumor instead of something that actually happened. I also added "if true" in the next statement about it. 

You do make a good point about "looked into" vs "wanted to hire". Again, I'm not sure.

I have trouble buying today's Otz rumor. I would think that Otz would have the most incentive to keep any agreement secret at this point, with his team still playing and getting ready for the tourney. 

I don't buy it at all...

Rabby has been hiding under his bed for two days because he can’t get any info. Hot board 5.0 was coming out last Saturday
