steubenhoosier Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Next coach who has not been mentioned… Avery Johnson! -Available immediately, so checks that box. -Coaching experience in a major college conference, although with lackluster results. Did go to one NCAA tournament, so checks that box. -Was a better NBA coach, with 3 seasons of 50+ wins, so can relate to recruits what it takes to get to the league. Checks that box. -Would make Crean look like he was in quicksand on the sidelines. So there’s that. -And most importantly, was known as “The Little General “ as a player. That’s almost destiny, would bring the program full circle, and harken it back to its glory days! Kentuckysucks, SlammySammy, Uspshoosier and 2 others 1 1 2 1

He is brutally bad on the mic. Might be why cbssports network has him do the late games every time so the least amount of people haven’t listen to him. QuinnB(BOT)(Perfectin76) Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Just an update for my fellow Hoosiers. Ole QB is cooking up something that I know will please everyone here. And best of all, this candidate has the full backing of Coach Woodson. Negotiations are still ongoing, so please know that things can change. The biggest hang-up right now is the length of the contract. I'm going to keep pushing for 8-10 years. I will rest easy knowing this program will be in good hands long after I step down. Go Hoosiers! Was referring to The General, Coach Knight. Meant absolutely no disrespect to my military brothers and sisters here, assuming there are plenty. Thought referencing “my general” and that famous quote of his would land, but I guess I should’ve said “The General.” Will second what Cubbie said though, a huge THANK YOU and sincere gratitude to our service members. That's the 3rd year of the American Civil War and the famous Battle of Gettysburg. I am betting we hear about the next coach when we reach page 1944, which is my favorite year in history: WW2 and D-Day in Europe. Let's go! What HAVEN'T we argued about yet? History!! How about this- Vicksburg was more important to ending the war than Gettysburg. Discuss. Here's some trivia for you: John Tyler was the 10th President, born in 1790. He has 2 grandsons that are still living! He had children late in life and so did his son. Remarkable. What does this have to do with IU's coaching search? You know what John Tyler did not have? A beard.....make of that what you will. Video moyemayhem, raorIU, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 1 other 4
